Member of Technical Staff – Infrastructure

The company builds large action models and world models that perceive, predict and act across virtual and physical environments.

It also runs a gaming clip platform, the largest and fastest-growing of its kind, that millions of gamers use each year to capture, share and discover games.

Since October 2025 the company has raised over $650M from Khosla, GC, Valor and Point72, and it recently closed a round at a $6.2B valuation.

Responsibilities

• Train action policies and world models on the largest action-labeled gaming dataset available, while running a platform that millions of gamers use every day.
• Both depend on one infrastructure layer that stores, moves and serves billions of gameplay clips a year, handling research workloads one day and consumer traffic the next.
• Own that infrastructure end to end, with cloud and storage at the center: the cloud architecture and the fleet it runs on, object storage holding petabytes of gameplay video, and the data pipelines and CI/CD around them.
• Make architecture decisions before scale forces them, and map where current systems will break at 10x the data, traffic or team.
• Move from infrastructure design into application code when the problem requires it.
• Build the infrastructure function in New York: set technical direction, hire and grow the team, and define how systems are designed, reviewed, deployed and run, while staying hands-on.
• Work with research and product engineers across the company and the platform, and be the go-to person for system design.

Requirements

• Hands-on cloud and storage experience in production. The company runs on GCP and CoreWeave, but you need to have owned Terraform, IAM and Kubernetes on a major cloud and made the calls on object storage placement, tiering and egress cost at scale.
• 6+ years of hands-on work with planet-scale distributed systems, such as search infrastructure, large-scale storage or query systems, or time series systems, with solid grounding in storage, query engines and consistency, and in running them in production.
• Experience building infrastructure from nothing rather than only operating someone else's design, ideally as a founder or one of the first infrastructure engineers, and a record of choosing to take on hard problems.
• Experience leading infrastructure while staying hands-on: setting technical direction, raising the bar for the engineers around you, ideally including hiring them, and still writing code.
• Breadth from low-level infrastructure up through application code, so you don't need a handoff to build what your infrastructure supports.
• Strong agency and sound judgment when the picture is unclear. Priorities shift between a research lab and a live consumer product, and you work out what matters and act on it.
• Petabyte-scale video or media work, or real games experience and familiarity with gaming data.
• Depth in ML tooling such as PyTorch or JAX and world models, data platforms and orchestration such as Dagster, GPU training clusters, or systems work in Rust or C++, including significant open source contributions.
• Experience running infrastructure that serves research workloads and consumer production traffic at the same time.
