Description

The company is changing how vehicles are made while running one of the most complex manufacturing networks in the world. The Manufacturing Cybersecurity team protects the technology, systems and data that let its plants run safely, stay resilient and hit output targets.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role for the plant's main cybersecurity point person. You will carry out the manufacturing cybersecurity program, drive fixes, help with incident response and disaster recovery, and work with plant, IT, cybersecurity, supplier and global colleagues to lower risk while keeping production running.

You will use your own judgment, get things done with little oversight, and juggle several priorities at once.

Responsibilities

  • Put the manufacturing cybersecurity program into practice at your assigned plant and keep it running.
  • Find, report, rank and fix endpoint security problems and vulnerabilities.
  • Take part in incident response, investigations, recovery work and follow-up actions.
  • Assess cybersecurity readiness for new projects, pilots, launches and operations after launch.
  • Organize work plans, site readiness tasks, staffing, timelines, dependencies and open items.
  • Work with plant operations, IT, cybersecurity, suppliers and global teams to put effective controls in place.
  • Apply suitable patching and firmware updates to production-critical equipment and operational technology assets.
  • Report cybersecurity status, risks, likely downtime, fix plans and recovery progress to plant leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Resolve cybersecurity issues while keeping disruption to manufacturing as small as possible.
  • Write up assessments, fixes, incident follow-up, recovery steps and operating procedures.
  • Follow open issues until they close, and raise risks, dependencies and possible production impacts quickly.
  • Help improve plant cybersecurity processes, controls and operational readiness over time.

Requirements

  • Required: a bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, engineering or a related field is preferred, and 5 years of relevant work experience may be accepted instead.
  • Required: 1+ years of experience in cybersecurity, automotive or manufacturing operations, industrial control environments, plant technology support or a closely related field.
  • Required: working knowledge of endpoint security, vulnerability management, incident response and recovery.
  • Required: a track record of finding, ranking and fixing cybersecurity issues and vulnerabilities.
  • Required: working knowledge of patching production-critical equipment and updating firmware on operational technology assets.
  • Required: you can run projects, handle competing priorities and work independently with limited supervision.
  • Required: you can work well with plant operations, IT, cybersecurity, suppliers and global stakeholders.
  • Required: you can explain cybersecurity risks, fix plans and operational impacts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Required: you can judge cybersecurity readiness for projects, pilots, launches and post-launch operations.
  • Required: you can weigh cybersecurity needs against production continuity and operating priorities with sound judgment.
  • Preferred: experience with manufacturing automation equipment, industrial control systems or plant-floor technology.
  • Preferred: experience setting up, deploying and supporting cybersecurity tools in manufacturing or OT environments.
  • Preferred: experience with plant-floor disaster recovery, recovery testing or operational resilience planning.
  • Preferred: experience supporting automotive manufacturing operations.
  • Preferred: familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, industrial networks or comparable OT systems.
  • Preferred: experience coordinating cybersecurity controls and fixes across several plant or enterprise stakeholders.
  • Preferred: familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, vulnerability management practices and OT security standards.
