Description

The role is Managing Data Architect, Data and Cloud Architecture Lead.

The company builds and runs mission-critical technology systems that many people depend on every day, and it modernizes them as well.

The team focuses on data architecture and cloud, and the work involves customers' business problems from start to finish.

Career growth runs from Junior Architect to Principal Architect, with hands-on work and the option to earn certifications on four major platforms.

Responsibilities

  • You will manage data across its whole life, starting from business requirements and turning them into data models, schema designs and data architectures.
  • You will guide governance across the full IT data lifecycle: acquisition, transformation, classification, storage, presentation, distribution, security, privacy and archiving, so that data stays accurate, complete and secure.
  • You will work with customers to design solutions and data architectures around their business problems, needs and constraints.
  • You will apply technologies such as relational, hierarchical and object-oriented databases, file systems, storage management, document imaging, knowledge and content management, taxonomies and business intelligence, adding cloud storage where it fits.
  • You will design centralized or distributed systems that meet user needs and perform well.
  • You will test whether proposed solutions are viable through solution assurance assessments, and work with the project team and stakeholders so the final result meets customer expectations.

Requirements

  • You need a growth mindset and a drive to develop your own skills, a focus on customer success, and an inclusive way of working with others.
  • Required: at least 10+ years of experience with cloud-based data platforms, data integration and governance frameworks on one of Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Required: strong knowledge of data modeling, database design and data management best practice.
  • Required: ability to architect, design and implement infrastructure and platforms for data and storage.
  • Required: experience programming in Python, C, C++ and Java.
  • Required: you must already be authorized to work without employer-sponsored work authorization. The role does not provide visa sponsorship now or at any time in the future.
  • Preferred: a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Security or a related field.
