Description

The company sells a platform for quote-to-cash, covering subscriptions, usage-based pricing, AI-driven offerings and outcome-based models. It has led the subscription economy for over a decade and is now building a quote-to-cash platform on an AI-ready base.

Its AI agents work inside revenue workflows. They look into invoice problems, clear billing and collections exceptions, answer revenue questions quickly, and speed up implementations with a quote-to-cash implementation agent.

This manager role leads the engineers who build the agent platform underneath these tools, including the shared runtime, orchestration, tooling, context handling and safety layers. The goal is for finance teams to trust the agents with revenue.

You will set direction for how agents reason over live account, contract, invoice, payment and accounting data, and how they act through tools and protocols such as MCP. You will also define how agents are evaluated, observed and governed.

The AI Platform team sits in Product & Technology and releases weekly. Managers write code with their teams, work across time zones, and prefer written, asynchronous communication. Within 6 to 12 months you should have shipped a platform that lets teams launch agents quickly and safely, set standards for quality, security and auditability of AI, and built a team known for shipping. You will hire and grow a team of 5 to 8 engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Spend at least 50% of your time writing, designing and reviewing core platform code, and personally own critical parts of the system.
  • Own the architecture and roadmap for the agent platform, covering the runtime, orchestration, tool and MCP integration, memory and context retrieval, and model access across providers.
  • Build evaluation, tracing, guardrail and permission foundations, along with cost and latency controls and audit trails, so agents are safe in core financial processes.
  • Create clear APIs, SDKs and patterns so product teams can ship agents into billing, collections, revenue and implementation work.
  • Keep a weekly release rhythm using small increments, CI/CD, automated tests and evaluation gates.
  • Hire, coach and grow engineers, set clear expectations, and build a culture of ownership, rigor and fast iteration.
  • Work with Product, Security and Architecture to balance speed with reliability, compliance and customer trust.
  • Take on wider scope over time, including cross-functional initiatives and broader leadership as the AI work grows.

Requirements

  • Typically 2+ years leading software engineers as a people manager or tech lead in B2B SaaS, while staying hands-on with production code and spending at least half your time coding.
  • Have built and shipped production systems powered by LLMs, such as agents, tool-calling or RAG systems, or LLM evaluation and observability tooling.
  • Have designed distributed, cloud-native platforms that other engineering teams build on, with a focus on developer experience, reliability and scale.
  • Coach engineers well, set clear expectations, and make sound technical and delivery decisions in a fast-changing field.
  • Have worked on teams shipping weekly or faster, keeping quality high through small releases, automated testing and quick feedback loops.
  • Handle shifting priorities while balancing long-term architecture against near-term delivery.
  • Have a record of delivering complex software on time, improving team velocity or quality, and growing engineers into senior roles.
  • Experience with billing, subscription, pricing or quote-to-cash systems.
  • Experience with agent frameworks and protocols such as Model Context Protocol, multi-agent orchestration, or model gateway and routing layers.
  • Experience applying AI in regulated, high-trust areas such as finance, where accuracy, explainability and auditability matter.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and modern service architecture.
  • Experience partnering with Product on roadmap and discovery.
