It has over 135 years of financial experience and more than 24,000 employees, called partners, and serves sophisticated clients with current technology and strong service.

This is a senior technology leadership role that owns the strategy, architecture, engineering and transformation of enterprise network application services across on-premises, cloud and data center environments. You report to the SVP, Global Head of Network Architecture, Engineering, and Operations.

You lead a global engineering team that runs application delivery, DNS, DHCP and IPAM, load balancing, secure access and network security platforms. You set technology roadmaps, engineering standards, automation work and modernization aimed at better scale, reliability, security and efficiency.

You work with infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud and business stakeholders to keep network services aligned with company goals and changing needs. You also lead through complex incidents and help improve mission-critical services.

The ideal candidate has led high-performing engineering teams in mission-critical settings, delivered large technology transformations, and built a culture of innovation, accountability and engineering excellence.

  • Keep team skills current so change delivery and support stay strong.
  • Escalate to Operations for complex troubleshooting of Major Incidents when needed.
  • Provide on-call escalation on a rota and work extended hours when required.
  • Produce performance reports and connect technical teams with senior management.
  • Support audit and compliance reporting, including gathering evidence.

Requirements

  • 8, 10 years of network engineering in a global enterprise organization of 5,000 to 50,000 users, covering traditional data centers and cloud environments.
  • At least 5 years leading or managing teams.
  • Substantial hands-on experience designing and building resilient, scalable security solutions, ideally in financial services or investment banking.
  • Solid grasp of cybersecurity principles, global financial services business models, regional compliance standards, local regulations and applicable laws.
  • Ability to understand risk and compliance and turn them into effective security solutions.
  • Experience with automation and orchestration, including scripting against APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of Layer 2, Layer 3, and Layer 4 to 7 network and security technologies.
  • Familiarity with testing tools, networking technologies and methods for troubleshooting complex problems across services, applications, and network hardware and software.
  • Background in automating monitoring, observability, health checks and change management.
  • Awareness of how Quantum technologies and AI may affect and be applied within network infrastructure.
  • Expert knowledge and experience in several of these areas: NGFW platforms and management tools such as Tufin; network access control in enterprise environments; secure web gateway technologies; zero-trust network access and SASE; application delivery and load balancers; public and private cloud security tools and services; workflow automation; Cisco and Arista routing and switching; DNS, IPAM and DHCP; ServiceNow integrations; SD-WAN solutions; network monitoring and reporting tools; AWS and Azure cloud networking; AI enablement.

  • Organized, with a proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem management and customer service skills.
  • Positive and composed under pressure.
  • Works effectively with global teams to deliver projects, often at pace and in challenging circumstances.
  • Speaks with senior management, giving clear status updates and next steps.
  • Maintains high professional standards, questions the status quo and looks for better ways of working.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Avoids hero culture, builds a team-first environment and looks after staff welfare.
