Mainframe Production Engineer

Description

The team is being set up within Operations to support mainframe production. It focuses on building core skills, developing new ones and sharing knowledge among colleagues.

The role works in the Z OPS team and follows the company's procedures and processes set by the dedicated Paris OPS teams. You will build strong working links between Z OPS and the dedicated business line teams.

ITIL methodology is applied day to day across all areas of the team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out requested actions by following defined procedures and processes.
• Deploy components and manage releases.
• Update, deploy and run batch scheduling assets.
• Monitor and report on the overall mainframe process, including file processing.
• Coordinate these actions with other OPS teams and with application development teams worldwide.
• Pass on knowledge to the OPS teams.
• Help define the procedures and processes the team needs.
• Build team spirit and settle into the company culture.
• Support regular activity reporting and KPI calculation.
• Take part in continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Good knowledge of Mainframe Z technology.
• Good general knowledge of IT infrastructure.
• Knowledge of and experience with CA7/OPC, CICS/IMS and DB2.
• Some familiarity with Endeavor, Changeman or eGen.
• Some familiarity with middleware such as MQseries and CFT.
• Some familiarity with Rexx, ISPF Macro and Clists.
• Strong written and spoken English is required. French is a plus.
