Description

The company's AI technology underpins its enterprise software. It has billion-dollar revenue and more than 7000+ employees across all continents.

This senior role combines hands-on building with technical leadership across the stack. The work is software that supports industrial decarbonization, and you will shape how products are designed, delivered and run.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and build of APIs, back-end services and user interfaces that put accessibility first and scale well.
  • Build AI-driven features across front end and back end for carbon accounting, ESG data collection and sustainability planning.
  • Steer the platform toward modular, event-driven, API-first components.
  • Give technical direction and weigh trade-offs between scalability, maintainability, performance and product impact.
  • Take charge of reliability, including telemetry, SLOs, error budgets, on-call rotations, incident response and ongoing service improvement.
  • Promote DevOps practices such as CI/CD, deployment automation, monitoring and application-level operations.
  • Work with Platform Engineers in a lean DevOps shared service model, owning application-level DevOps within your team.
  • Mentor engineers and push engineering best practice and a higher technical bar across the team.
  • Champion code quality, documentation, automated testing, performance, security and maintainability.
  • Own the quality of what ships, including test automation, continuous improvement and production readiness.
  • Work closely with Product Management, Design, AI, Platform Engineering and other teams on discovery, trade-offs and delivery.
  • Focus on customer pain points and deliver elegant, scalable engineering solutions.
  • Spot technical risks, performance bottlenecks and chances to improve architecture and ways of working.

Requirements

  • Essential: You have worked across the full stack, building both front-end and back-end software.
  • Essential: You have solid hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks, React in particular or something similar.
  • Essential: You have strong back-end experience, ideally in Go or another general-purpose language.
  • Essential: You have designed and built scalable APIs, services and cloud-native applications.
  • Essential: You understand DevOps well, including CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, automation and incident response.
  • Essential: You have delivered secure, observable, high-quality production software.
  • Essential: You care about code quality, automated testing, documentation, performance and maintainability.
  • Essential: You can lead technical design discussions and influence architecture decisions.
  • Essential: You communicate and collaborate well with Product, Design, Platform and Engineering teams.
  • Essential: You take ownership of outcomes from design through to production.
  • Desirable: Experience with Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Desirable: Experience with event-driven architectures, distributed systems or microservices.
  • Desirable: Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
  • Desirable: Experience in cross-functional product teams.
  • Desirable: Experience mentoring engineers or contributing to engineering standards.
  • Desirable: Experience with AI-enabled, data-intensive, sustainability, carbon intelligence, ESG reporting or enterprise SaaS products.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and standards such as GHG Protocol, CSRD and SBTi.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with observability, reliability engineering, SLOs, error budgets and production incident management.
