You will lead platform engineering at an early-stage biotech data infrastructure company.
You will own the architecture, security and scale of the core platform, which turns varied lab data into one knowledge base that scientists and AI agents can query.
Responsibilities
Decide the architecture and build ingestion pipelines, APIs, microservices and storage for varied scientific data, keeping track of where each data point came from.
Run knowledge graphs and vector search that support both symbolic and semantic retrieval.
Write high-concurrency services in Go and Python, including controls on what agents can write and isolated execution environments.
Design security boundaries: service authentication, tenant isolation, secrets management, encryption and zero-trust practices.
Take ownership of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, SLOs and internal developer workflows.
Set engineering standards, review code, mentor engineers and help grow the platform team.
Work with company leadership on team design and on hiring platform engineers.
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in platform or infrastructure engineering, with backend infrastructure, data platforms or distributed systems in production.
Strong hands-on work with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible and modern CI/CD systems.
Experience building ingestion for messy data from many sources, including schema harmonization and entity resolution.
Proficiency in Go, and in Python or FastAPI, plus production data systems such as knowledge graphs or vector search.
Experience with production security, observability and infrastructure engineering alongside software development.
Experience leading architecture, mentoring engineers or setting engineering rigor. Biotech data experience and SOC 2 or similar compliance experience are beneficial.
