Description

The company is hiring a senior Python engineer to lead the design and development of its AI technologies within the Services Tech AI team. You will have a track record of building high-scale engineering products, ideally AI solutions, and will drive AI projects across the bank.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, build, and upkeep of complex Python-based GenAI platforms, applications, services, and infrastructure so AI capabilities run reliably, scale, and connect across the company's business units.
  • Work with data science, technical, and business stakeholders to define the architecture for key use cases, with a focus on Python solutions for the lines of business.
  • Bring new GenAI products and process improvements into production, working with internal and external partners to validate and deliver solutions that create commercial value, with strong Python implementations.
  • Lead projects that resolve high-impact technical and business problems, evaluating complex GenAI processes, system architecture, and industry standards to propose Python-driven solutions.
  • Give expert guidance on Python programming, making sure platform design follows architectural blueprints and best practices for generative models.
  • Define and enforce Python coding standards, testing, debugging, and implementation approaches for enterprise-grade solutions, using a deep understanding of system flow.
  • Run several concurrent initiatives of varying size and complexity, including joint work with external vendors and startups on new directions, especially Python-based technologies.
  • Build a thorough understanding of how business, architecture, and infrastructure fit together in the company's GenAI ecosystem to meet strategic goals.
  • Advise and coach mid-level developers and analysts on Python and GenAI, supporting their skill growth and how work is allocated.
  • Work with the Risk and Control teams to apply governance, risk management, standardization, and tooling practices to Python-based GenAI systems.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in the software industry, with a strong focus on enterprise software.
  • 6+ years building scalable, robust Python platforms for AI-driven applications and systems, using libraries such as FastAPI, Flask, Django, Pandas, NumPy, Prefect, Scikit-learn, and Hugging Face.
  • 5+ years delivering complex Python solutions and services, such as backend services and APIs, into production.
  • Proven experience managing and completing projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Solid understanding of Generative AI systems, AIOps, and application monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience with cloud architectures, specifically on public cloud platforms.
  • Hands-on experience integrating AI and ML technologies, particularly with Python.
  • Experience with software development agents, agile development, CI/CD pipelines, software testing, and code reviews.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly, shift priorities, influence highly skilled engineers, and guide technology decisions.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills.
  • Clear, concise communication, both written and verbal, and strong documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic outlook.
  • Experience in the financial industry is a significant advantage.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
