Description

The company is a legal data intelligence business. Its AI-powered cloud platform helps law firms, corporations and government agencies organize and analyze large volumes of complex information for litigation, investigations, regulatory inquiries and data breach response.

This role sits on the Engineering Platform team, which builds the shared frontend infrastructure, frameworks and design-system integration that the product teams depend on.

As Lead Frontend Engineer you will set the direction of frontend architecture, lead shared framework work and the Micro Frontend strategy, and mentor engineers on hard problems at scale. Your leadership helps hundreds of engineers work faster and build better.

Responsibilities

  • Own the design, build and running of scalable, secure shared frontend infrastructure for a cloud-native platform that handles petabytes of data each week, writing code yourself while guiding the team's execution.
  • Set clear technical direction for architecture, shared frameworks and design-system integration, working with Staff and Principal Engineers on system design.
  • Work daily with teammates and product partners to reach shared goals and deliver AI-powered legal data features at large scale.
  • Mentor engineers through expertise, teamwork and sound judgment.
  • Define engineering standards through code and design reviews, patterns, best practices and coaching.
  • Keep team work aligned with product strategy and delivery dates, and clear the technical obstacles in the way.
  • Lead reliability work, on-call practices, incident response and root cause analysis for the services the team owns.
  • Set the frontend architecture vision across platform teams and lead shared infrastructure, design-system components and Micro Frontend integration using React, TypeScript and PrimeReact, alongside Staff and Principal Engineers, product, UX and engineering leadership.
  • Guide accessibility (WCAG), performance (lazy loading, code splitting, asset optimization, telemetry), test automation (unit, integration and end-to-end with Jest, Cypress or Playwright) and maintainability, and evolve CI/CD, component versioning and documentation.
  • Lead exploration of AI-enhanced UI and UX, such as smart component behavior, generative layouts and adaptive interfaces, and grow technical leadership through architecture reviews, pair programming, mentoring and hands-on development.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of frontend work building and operating cloud-native systems, including at least 2 years in a technical or lead engineering role.
  • A track record of setting technical direction and leading teams effectively.
  • Hands-on experience designing and building distributed, multi-tenant systems.
  • Experience owning CI/CD, observability and service reliability.
  • Strong product and systems thinking, weighing delivery speed against long-term sustainability.
  • Clear communication, collaboration and technical leadership skills.
  • Advanced JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript and React skills, including building and managing shared design systems and Micro Frontend or modular UI architectures in large systems.
  • Solid command of semantic HTML, modern CSS and pre-processors (SASS/LESS), responsive design, WCAG accessibility, frontend performance profiling and cross-browser testing, plus CI/CD, bundlers (Vite, Webpack), test frameworks and RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
  • Preferred: prior people-lead or technical-lead experience.
  • Preferred: experience in regulated or large-scale environments.
  • Preferred: familiarity with AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor or Claude Code.
  • Preferred: experience working in global or highly distributed organizations.
  • Preferred: background in.NET or other backend technologies (Node.js, Python) for cross-stack collaboration.
  • Preferred: understanding of UX principles and design-system governance, with design-to-code alignment and familiarity with design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
  • Preferred: experience with AI-driven UI and UX, such as chatbot integration, recommendation engines, personalization or adaptive layouts.
  • Listed skills: documentation, innovation, leadership, problem solving, process improvement, project management, quality assurance (QA), risk management, technical knowledge and troubleshooting.
