Lead DevOps Engineer

Description

The company is the company Australia, and this role sits in its Platform Engineering function as a Lead DevOps Engineer.

You will report to the Platform Operations Manager and lead on the reliability, scalability, security and performance of the company's critical technology platforms.

You will work with stakeholders in Infrastructure, Architecture, Security and Software Engineering to develop cloud-native platforms and operational capabilities that support the bank's digital strategy.

The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on work across platform engineering, cloud operations, application lifecycle management, infrastructure automation, solution design and technical governance.

You will help raise the team's DevOps maturity, promote sound engineering practices and help technology teams deliver secure, scalable and reliable solutions that serve millions of customer interactions.

Responsibilities

• Support software delivery and engineering teams with operational and infrastructure needs.
• Build and maintain tools that strengthen application monitoring, integration and deployment.
• Look after application configuration and code repositories.
• Drive Platform Engineering initiatives with a focus on Continuous Delivery (CD).
• Automate manual work to make operations more efficient and reliable.

Requirements

• Experience in software development, infrastructure engineering or DevOps.
• Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines, with Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of container technologies, especially Kubernetes.
• Scripting and automation experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python or Ansible.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases, such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server and MongoDB.
• Expertise in Azure Cloud, AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service), microservices, Kafka and Terraform.
• Strong problem solver who focuses on automation and operational excellence.
• A habit of continuous learning and openness to AI-driven technologies and new ideas.
