Description

The company is a global technology business that helps people and businesses send, spend, and manage money across borders. Its goal is for money movement to be quick, easy to follow, and eventually free of charge.

This role sits between data analytics and financial reporting. It is not a traditional accounting job. You will build the data infrastructure and automation that keeps financial statements accurate, consistent, and ready for audit as the company grows worldwide.

The team is international and works across the company's finance and data functions.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the logic behind key performance metrics, and make sure every line item in the financial statements can be traced to its source.
  • Own the end-to-end data pipelines, including their orchestration and validation.
  • Make sure data moves reliably between internal data lakes and reporting tools such as Anaplan and Planful.
  • Be the go-to expert on how data from internal systems maps to the general ledger.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for auditors by structuring complex data extracts and writing the source-of-truth queries that support the company's financial integrity.
  • Work closely with Finance leadership to produce structured reports that stay consistent across all financial disclosures.
  • Spot gaps in reporting efficiency and build the fix yourself rather than waiting for a ticket.

Requirements

  • A strong quantitative background and comfort working with very large, complex datasets.
  • Ability to write optimised SQL that pulls reliable financial data.
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts, including the balance sheet, the P&L, and how transactions flow into the ledger. A finance or accounting degree is not required.
  • A quick learner who can pick up new tools, including internal data platforms and planning software such as Anaplan or Planful, and use them to improve data quality.
  • Self-directed, with a habit of finding problems and solving them independently.
  • Desirable: experience with dbt, Python, Airflow, or BI tools.

Conditions

Hybrid working model that combines office and home working.

The company is a publicly listed business that continues to grow.

The role is based in the team's office location with home working on a hybrid basis.

The company is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds.

Benefits

  • Stock options (RSUs) in a growing public company.
  • A paid 6-week sabbatical after 4 years of service.
  • An annual development budget and paid "Me-days".
  • A defined Analytics Career Map with a clear path for progression.
  • Ownership to choose the tools and processes that best solve each problem.
