Description

You will be placed inside an AFRICOM directorate to help CDAO modernize digital operations and speed up AI and ML adoption across the command.

Your work covers documenting and digitizing command workflows, building and standardizing semantic ontologies, and setting up out-of-the-box Microsoft 365 and DEOS features so people can find data more easily, work more efficiently, and make better decisions.

The company is a global technology and professional services firm with about 26,000 staff across more than 50 countries, focused on AI, cloud, cyber and software development for U.S. government, defense and intelligence clients.

Responsibilities

  • Process intelligence and workflow optimization (30%): map, baseline and digitize current command workflows and Joint Staff standards.
  • Use process intelligence methods to find bottlenecks and produce versioned workflow diagrams.
  • Convert manual work into automated or partly automated digital workflows using Agile delivery methods.
  • Ontology development and data standardization (30%): design and maintain minimum viable ontologies in OWL, RDF and SKOS.
  • Make sure documents, models and related data products follow metadata standards so they integrate with MSS and WDP.
  • Prepare ontologies and models so AI agents and LLMs can reach authoritative, secure data for decision tools, dashboards and predictive analytics.
  • Education, training and system adoption (30%): teach Knowledge Managers and functional users metadata practices, knowledge capture and platforms such as Microsoft 365, Databricks and Palantir.
  • Encourage data literacy and the uptake of new digital workflows across directorates.
  • Contractor oversight and Agile work package management (10%): check technical work packages for accuracy, completeness and compliance with governance standards.
  • Assess scope and dataflow through digital capture tools such as JIRA or Slack, and make sure MVP increments meet stakeholder needs.
  • Percentages may change with mission requirements.

Requirements

  • Required: a bachelor's degree. This is mandatory under the DEOS contract and cannot be substituted.
  • Required: 10+ years in knowledge management, process engineering or a closely related field.
  • Required: experience leading cross-functional teams in DoW or IC environments.
  • Required: hands-on Microsoft 365 configuration, including SharePoint administration, Power Automate workflows and Teams governance. You must be able to build these, not just advise on them.
  • Required: experience in a U.S. military headquarters or Joint Staff directorate, with an understanding of battle rhythm, command processes and operational documentation.
  • Required: a record of leading change and getting adoption from senior stakeholders at O-6 or SES level.
  • Required: practical experience with ontologies, metadata standards and workflow digitization.
  • Required: U.S. citizenship, eligibility for SOFA status and the required country clearances.
  • Required: TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Desired: experience with Power Apps or Power BI for dashboards and decision support.
  • Desired: familiarity with CDAO/CKDP frameworks, DEOS enterprise services and DoW records management.
  • Desired: background in knowledge engineering frameworks, semantic technologies or content modeling.
  • Desired: experience with data ingestion, tagging and interoperability across MSS, WDP or similar analytical platforms.

Conditions

Full-time, 40 scheduled hours per week, onsite in an international (OCONUS) location.

Travel is required for less than 10% of the time.

Clearance must be held now at TS/SCI and must be obtainable at that level.

Salary is likely to fall between $140,250 and $189,750, but the final figure depends on experience, location and possibly contract terms, and may sit outside that range.

Total pay for international roles depends on tax, social security, immigration status and location, and may include allowances, premium uplifts, or relocation or transportation support on top of base salary.

As part of hiring, you will complete an identity verification process using biometrics and AI, and you must be on camera for virtual interviews.

Equal opportunity employer, including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.

Benefits

  • Medical plans, some with Health Savings Accounts, plus dental and vision coverage for U.S.-based employees.
  • 401(k) with pre-tax and post-tax contributions up to IRS limits and a company match.
  • Full flex work weeks where possible.
  • Paid time off including vacation, sick and personal time, holidays, parental, military, bereavement and jury duty leave.
  • Short- and long-term disability, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment, personal accident, critical illness, and business travel accident coverage, provided or available.
  • An AI-powered career tool that suggests next career steps and learning, and an internal mobility team to help you reach your goals.
