Description

The company is adding a junior network engineer to its ECS3 program, which supports an intelligence customer at sites across the continental US and overseas.

This is a full-time, regular role.

Responsibilities

  • Help plan network designs and layouts, and build the baseline system configuration.
  • Review network topologies, traffic, and capacity needs, then recommend solutions.
  • Brief the government customer and other contractors on proposed solutions and designs.
  • Carry out network engineering surveys and installations.
  • Help develop and maintain standard documentation.
  • Perform IOS upgrades and device configuration changes.
  • Produce network documentation, including physical and logical diagrams, design records, and inventory support.
  • Handle cable infrastructure tasks as required.
  • Submit change management requests for device installations.
  • Help users and operations staff with technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Carry out general network administration as needed.
  • Travel to customer sites in the continental US, up to 20% of the time, as needed.
  • Take part in special projects as required.

Requirements

  • Required: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
  • Required: High School/GED plus 5 years, Associate's plus 3 years, or Bachelor's plus 1 year.
  • Required: Three years of experience with network operating systems such as Cisco and Juniper, network hardware such as routers, switches, and cabling, and LAN/WAN protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and MPLS. Type 1 encryption is also required.
  • Required: Active Security+ certification.
  • Required: You must be able to engineer and document network solutions, not only deploy or configure them.
  • Required: Good verbal and written presentation skills.
  • Required: Active TS/SCI with polygraph, or TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a polygraph before starting.
  • Desired: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Desired: Working toward CCNP or a higher network certification.
  • Desired: JWICS or DISN experience is a strong plus.

Conditions

Full-time, regular position with up to 25% travel within the continental US.

Minimum clearance to start is TS/SCI with polygraph.

The position can be worked from more than one location, so the posted salary range of $53,100-$106,300 is the national average for the role.

Final pay depends on factors including location, federal contract labor categories and wage rates, prior experience, specific skills, education, and certifications.

Benefits

  • Healthcare, wellness, financial, retirement, family support, continuing education, and time off benefits.
  • Flexible time off to take what you need.
  • Access to learning resources for career development.
  • Flexibility to balance quality work with personal life.
