You will live in the Honolulu area to support daily onsite project work. No travel pay is attached to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Help install and set up equipment and infrastructure for the BIM contract, including racking and stacking new network gear, installing and activating UPS units, PDUs, access points, patch panels, and related CAT-6 cabling.
  • Help install new or upgraded technology while more experienced team members guide the work.
  • Record what you find in the field and report anything that could hold up the project to senior staff.
  • Support equipment assessments and give preliminary observations for review.
  • Attend training to learn product features and specifications, and pass basic information to customers when asked.
  • Help keep customer interactions positive by making sure equipment is used and supported correctly.
  • Check basic tasks completed by peers, follow their instructions, and escalate concerns to senior engineers.
  • Communicate daily with team members to keep timelines and goals on track.
  • Help coordinate site access, equipment readiness, and scheduling with Government Points of Contact as directed.
  • Support the project manager with simple stakeholder updates and clarifications of project details.
  • Give technical input on ISP/OSP work and gather information for design recommendations.
  • Serve on small implementation teams, focusing on assigned tasks rather than leading the team.
  • Help with technical, administrative, and operational tasks on assigned projects.
  • Prepare basic project documents, reports, and updates under senior guidance.
  • Carry out entry-level technical tasks to established quality and accuracy standards.
  • Gather data and give initial workload estimates to support planning.
  • Update network documentation and as-built records based on splicing and testing results.
  • Prepare drafts or collect information for project deliverables.
  • Follow quality assurance processes to keep project outputs accurate.
  • Work well in a team setting and collaborate closely with colleagues.

Requirements

  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
  • 2+ years of related experience, or a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • An active Secret clearance is required.
  • Familiarity with distribution systems (ISP/OSP) design and implementation documents, such as design documentation, as-built diagrams, rack elevations, and circuit connectivity matrices.
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of fiber testing.
  • A solid understanding of wired networking and general IT functions.

Conditions
