Description

J ob Title Java Engineer - Fixed Income Pricing and Analytics

Corporate Title Vice President

You will play a key role in transforming Deutsche Bank's Rates and Credit Fixed Income technology landscape as part of a multi-year modernization program. You will help build a next-generation pricing and analytics platform that traders will use to price products and manage risk. Working in a small, cross-functional team, you will deliver real-time, high-performance, cloud-native services in frequent increments and progressively replace legacy capabilities. You will help shape the target architecture, champion engineering best practices, and partner directly with traders, quantitative analysts, and other business stakeholders to build a scalable platform designed for long-term use.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build real-time, low-latency Java services supporting Rates and Credit pricing, axes, risk, and analytics workflows
  • Break down a complex legacy landscape into well-defined deliverables and use Agile practices to release modern capabilities to traders incrementally
  • Partner directly with traders, quantitative analysts, and business stakeholders to understand pricing workflows, refine requirements, and deliver high-impact features
  • Collaborate with front-end engineers to design end-to-end solutions, including streaming application programming interfaces that support real-time trading user interfaces
  • Improve engineering quality through code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration and delivery, and observability, while owning services from design through production
  • Influence the technical direction of the platform and support adoption of modern tools, frameworks, and AI-assisted development practices
  • How You’ll Lead
  • Partner with traders and business stakeholders to translate pricing, risk, and analytics needs into clear technical priorities and incremental outcomes
  • Collaborate with quantitative analysts and front-end engineers to shape end-to-end architecture, interfaces, and delivery plans
  • Mentor engineers, guide sound architectural decisions, and promote consistent engineering standards across the modernization program

Requirements

  • Proven expertise building complex, high-performance applications in modern Java, including concurrency, memory management, garbage collection tuning, and reactive programming
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems and event-driven architecture, including messaging technologies such as Solace or Kafka and distributed caching
  • Experience designing REST, gRPC, and streaming application programming interfaces, with solid Structured Query Language and relational database design skills
  • Experience deploying and running containerized services on Kubernetes in production, using modern observability tools such as OpenTelemetry
  • Proven technical leadership in large-scale modernization programs using iterative Agile delivery, test automation, continuous integration and delivery, code reviews, and sound architectural decisions
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs
  • Experience with Fixed Income products, electronic trading, pricing, or market data
  • Experience with Kotlin and Spring Boot
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to technical and business stakeholders
  • Curiosity and willingness to build knowledge of Fixed Income pricing and trading workflows
  • A collaborative approach to working in small, cross-functional teams and incorporating feedback from users
