Java Developer/SQL Lead Developer - Vice President

Description

This senior applications development role centers on building new application systems and programs and revising existing ones, working alongside the technology team.

The team is hiring a hands-on Java and SQL lead for the cross-functional prime reference data platform.

You will lead the team through platform re-engineering and work with a global group plus business and technology stakeholders. You need to drive your own work.

Responsibilities

• Work with several management groups to bring functions together toward shared goals, and identify the system enhancements needed to launch new products and improve processes.
• Solve high-impact problems and projects by thoroughly evaluating complex business processes, system processes and industry standards.
• Bring deep applications programming expertise and make sure application designs follow the overall architecture blueprint.
• Apply advanced knowledge of system flow to set standards for coding, testing, debugging and deployment.
• Understand how business areas such as architecture and infrastructure fit together to reach business goals.
• Analyze issues in depth and devise original solutions.
• Advise and coach mid-level developers and analysts, and assign their work.
• Assess risk in business decisions with attention to the firm's reputation and the protection of clients and assets. Drive compliance with laws, rules, regulations and policy, act with sound ethics, and escalate and report control issues openly.

Requirements

• You have 6-10 years of relevant experience in applications development or systems analysis.
• Your background includes extensive systems analysis and software application programming.
• You are very strong hands-on with Java, Spring and SQL on a distributed platform.
• You have strong experience with Kafka and messaging systems.
• You have strong hands-on work with caching tools like Gemfire or Redis.
• You have managed and delivered successful projects.
• You are a subject matter expert in at least one area of applications development.
• You can change priorities quickly when circumstances require.
• You have shown leadership and project management skills.
• You communicate clearly and concisely in writing and speaking.
• You hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: a master's degree.

Conditions

This is a full-time position based in Tampa, Florida, United States.

The primary salary range is $113,840.00 to $170,760.00.

Eligible employees may receive discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.

Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed.
