Description

The team validates the company's memory products on current and next-generation computing platforms.

As an intern, you will work with the System Enablement and Test Development teams. You will learn bring-up on new platforms, system setup, memory validation, writing tests, scripting automation, analysing data, and using AI tools in engineering work, with guidance from experienced engineers.

The company is a semiconductor business focused on memory and storage. Mentoring covers DRAM, BIOS and firmware interactions, computer architecture, lab practice, responsible use of approved AI tools, and the product lifecycle from bring-up through qualification and readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain Intel, AMD and ARM systems running Linux, Windows or UEFI, and record hardware, BIOS, firmware, operating system, memory and test settings so runs can be repeated and traced.
  • Run memory validation to judge compatibility, stability, reliability, performance and platform readiness.
  • Reproduce failures, gather logs and diagnostic data, log issues in tracking systems, apply structured failure analysis, and help verify corrective fixes.
  • Write or improve automation in Python, PowerShell, C++ or a similar language. Use approved AI tools for code, test generation, log review, summaries, research and documentation, and check all output yourself.
  • Follow the company's responsible AI rules: keep confidential information protected, use approved tools and sources, record AI-assisted work where needed, watch for errors and bias, and validate generated code and conclusions before use.
  • Work with System Enablement, Test Engineering, product, quality and program teams on assigned validation and root-cause investigations.
  • Report findings, risks, dependencies, corrective actions and next steps in clear documents and presentations.
  • Complete a bounded project over 3 months with set milestones, measurable deliverables, technical documentation and a final presentation. The project is chosen to deliver real business value within that time.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or graduate program in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or a closely related technical field. You must continue studying in the fall term after the internship, and your expected graduation date cannot be earlier than September of the internship year.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, computer architecture and structured problem solving.
  • Programming or scripting skill in Python, PowerShell, C++ or a comparable language, gained through coursework, projects, labs, student groups or other technical work.
  • Basic ability to use AI tools for research, code, data analysis, summaries or documentation, and to review their output critically and confirm it is accurate.
  • Ability to follow test procedures, keep accurate configuration records, analyse data and summarise results. Interest in hands-on lab validation, system debugging, test development or engineering automation.
  • Preferred: experience with DRAM, memory systems, BIOS or UEFI, firmware, server or client platforms, or hardware interfaces.
  • Preferred: familiarity with x86 or ARM architectures, Intel, AMD, ARM-based or embedded platforms, and Linux, Windows or UEFI environments.
  • Preferred: experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, power measurement equipment or similar diagnostic tools.
  • Preferred: experience applying generative AI, machine learning, automation or data analysis in engineering or academic work, such as writing code, generating tests, analysing logs, finding patterns, building dashboards, improving documentation or automating repetitive tasks.
  • Preferred: clear written and spoken communication, attention to detail, adaptability, teamwork, and willingness to learn unfamiliar tools and technologies.

Conditions

The internship lasts 3 months over the summer.

The posting links to information about the right to work, which you should review.

  • Medical, dental and vision plans are offered in all locations, so you can choose the plan that suits your family's needs and budget.
  • Income protection if you cannot work due to illness or injury, and paid family leave.
  • A paid time-off program and paid holidays.
  • A benefits guide is available on the company's careers site.
