Description

The company is a utility services business that adds capacity to the grid through its Distributed Capacity Procurement (DCP) model. Utilities, energy majors and large-load customers use it to deploy front-of-the-meter batteries and gensets as distribution infrastructure.

Capacity placed where and when the grid needs it helps meet demand, supports reliability and can ease rates. The company handles program design, grid value assessment, asset host engagement and value chain management, aiming for on-time, on-budget builds with strong system value at the lowest cost.

So far the company has completed more than 3,200 projects in 43 states and energized more than 300MW of assets, turning customer-sited assets into a valuable portfolio resource.

The company pioneered DCP and is working to make distributed capacity a recognized category for how utilities grow the grid. This role focuses on telling that story through content and events.

Responsibilities

  • Create blogs, articles, white papers, case studies, infographics, talking points and other marketing materials that follow the company's content strategy.
  • Work with internal subject matter experts and executives to turn technical knowledge into thought leadership that teaches the market about distributed capacity and the DCP model.
  • Build presentations, briefing materials, speaker decks and talking points for conferences, industry meetings and media.
  • Create and maintain sales enablement material such as program collateral, case studies, one-pagers and proposal content for utility and large-load customer conversations.
  • Keep the content calendar and asset library current so materials are accurate, on brand and delivered on schedule.
  • Publish and maintain website content, applying search engine optimization (SEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO) practices.
  • Coordinate marketing across paid, earned, shared and owned channels, including digital, website, social media, email and public relations.
  • Manage the company's presence at industry events, including conferences, sponsorships, speaking engagements and logistics.
  • Find speaking opportunities for leaders and experts, such as conference sessions, panels and industry presentations, then handle submissions, preparation, schedules and on-site support.
  • Keep the company events and industry organization calendar aligned with marketing priorities.
  • Manage event budgets, vendors, timelines and deliverables.
  • Bring agency-supported content and event work in-house by setting up scalable processes and repeatable workflows.
  • Track content and event performance and find ways to improve reach, engagement and overall effectiveness.
  • Work with the Director of Creative & Marketing Strategy to develop and maintain program marketing that supports customers and partners.
  • Write and update program explainers, training presentations, co-branded materials and prospect-facing collateral.
  • Coordinate internal teams, freelance vendors and external partners on production, timelines and reviews.
  • Keep messaging and brand alignment consistent across marketing initiatives.
  • Work with Commercialization, Program Management and other teams so marketing supports broader business goals.

Requirements

  • Required qualifications:
  • You have 4+ years of experience in integrated marketing, content marketing, multichannel marketing or a closely related field.
  • You have B2B marketing experience, especially with utilities, government organizations or large enterprise customers.
  • You write, edit and develop content well, turning complex or technical information into clear, compelling messages.
  • You have coordinated marketing across several channels, such as content, digital, social media, email, events or public relations.
  • You are strong at project management and organization, handling several initiatives, stakeholders and deadlines at once.
  • You collaborate across teams and communicate well with senior leaders, technical experts and external partners.
  • You work independently, manage competing priorities and adapt to changing business needs in a remote setting.
  • You have agency experience in marketing, communications or public relations.
  • You have worked in the energy, utilities or infrastructure industries.
  • You have developed thought leadership content with executives and technical subject matter experts.
  • You have hands-on experience organizing conferences, sponsorships, speaking engagements and industry events.
  • You are familiar with HubSpot or similar marketing platforms and content management systems.
  • You have experience with SEO, GEO and measuring digital content performance.
  • You have used AI-powered tools for content development, marketing or productivity.

  • You are organized and detail-minded, owning events and projects from planning through delivery, anticipating needs, managing logistics and following through.
  • You build strong working relationships with executives, experts, colleagues and partners, bringing people together and managing expectations without direct authority.
  • You take responsibility for your work, make day-to-day decisions, know when to ask for input and look for ways to improve processes.
