Description

This is a hybrid role: you will be in an HPE office on average 2 days per week.

The company is a global edge-to-cloud business that helps customers connect, protect, analyze and act on their data and applications, from edge to cloud.

You will be the main technical contact between Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Sales, Supply Chain and Support, helping purpose-built HPE server solutions move from development through deployment and across their lifecycle.

You will define, set up and manage server platforms and Bills of Material (BOMs) for strategic ISV partner solutions and customer workloads, making sure each configuration is technically validated, orderable, supportable and in line with product strategy, customer needs and business goals.

The work covers new product introductions (NPI), platform roadmap planning, configuration governance, lifecycle management, sales enablement and customer escalations, and calls for strong server platform knowledge, systems knowledge and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain and keep current purpose-built HPE server configurations and BOMs that perform well and work with strategic ISV partner solutions.
  • Review and sign off BOM and configuration details for test plans, validation work and product releases.
  • Follow server platforms, options and component lifecycles, and write reports on roadmap changes, lifecycle risks and required transitions.
  • Help build and maintain configuration menus, option structures and business rules in HPE ordering, configuration and quoting tools.
  • Give technical advice on field sales questions, customer-specific non-standard configurations and special requests for large deals.
  • Support customer and field escalations by reproducing issues, checking configurations and helping with root cause investigations.
  • Set up, configure, maintain and test hardware in physical labs.
  • Work with Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Customer Support to keep configurations accurate and ready through each lifecycle stage.

Requirements

  • Required: a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related technical field.
  • Required: 3+ years in server hardware, platform engineering, configuration management, product lifecycle management or a closely related technical role.
  • Required: experience building and managing hardware configurations and BOMs for enterprise products.
  • Required: experience working with engineering, product management, sales, manufacturing and support teams.
  • Knowledge of server hardware architectures, covering processors, memory, storage, networking and platform options.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data protection and recovery, cyber resilience and cyber recovery strategies, secure vaulting and enterprise virtualization platforms.
  • Experience with BOM management, product configuration management and lifecycle processes.
  • Familiarity with configuration, quoting and ordering systems.
  • Ability to turn customer requirements into supported hardware configurations.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of server component lifecycle management and platform roadmap planning.
  • Clear communication and collaboration with technical, business and customer-facing teams.
