Description

The company's U.S. Consumer Cards unit is among the largest card issuers in the country, serving millions of customers across branded, co-brand and retail services cards.

The Digital & Client Experience team is central to that unit's strategy. It aims to build digital experiences that move customers toward digital-first use, raise satisfaction and support revenue growth. Its CX group also owns the overall client experience and pushes change across functions.

The business records over 2 billion mobile sessions a year and is working on AI-driven servicing, digital acquisition and channel quality.

This is a senior leadership role that sets the team's strategic direction. You will advise DCX leadership by turning customer needs, competitor moves, new technology and product performance data into priorities for product, investment and growth. You will help shape the digital and CX roadmaps.

You will also be the senior relationship owner for DCX's main stakeholders, linking it with card portfolios, Wealth, Retail, and partners in Marketing, Risk and Operations. You and your partner engagement team will keep priorities, funding, roadmaps, metrics and results aligned across a complex matrix.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of about 15 to 20 in product strategy, research and partner engagement, combining customer research, market data, competitor analysis, performance metrics and digital insight into one strategy that guides roadmaps, investments and executive priorities.
  • Build and maintain a forward-looking product strategy framework that spots shifting customer needs, market openings, technology trends, competitive threats and chances to innovate.
  • Assess emerging technologies, including AI, and judge how they could affect customer experience, product innovation, operations and business results.
  • Act as the main strategy contact between DCX and partners in Branded Cards, Co-Brand, Marketing, Risk, Operations, Wealth and Retail Bank, building agreement on priorities, funding, roadmaps and outcomes.
  • Run executive engagement routines and governance forums that make decisions clear, keep strategy aligned and settle competing priorities across the company.
  • Lead customer research and insight work using quantitative and qualitative methods to find unmet needs, new behaviours, pain points and innovation opportunities.
  • Oversee competitive intelligence and market monitoring so leaders understand industry trends, digital moves, fintech disruption, customer expectations and best practice.
  • Help prepare executive communications, business reviews, board materials and presentations, turning complex information into clear recommendations.

Requirements

  • 15+ years in product strategy, digital product management, customer insight, business strategy, consulting, portfolio management or a related field, within financial services, technology, fintech or consumer businesses.
  • You have led strategic planning and shaped investment decisions using customer insight, market intelligence, financial analysis and performance review.
  • You have managed senior executive relationships and aligned large, complex, matrixed organizations.
  • You think strategically and have turned customer needs, market trends, competitor intelligence and data into product priorities and measurable results.
  • You are strong analytically: you can assess complex problems, build business cases, rank investments and influence executive decisions.
  • You have run customer research programs using both qualitative and quantitative methods to shape product and business strategy.
  • You understand digital products, customer journeys, modern development practices and emerging technology, including AI.
  • You communicate well, presenting complex ideas and business cases to executive audiences.
  • You are an effective interpersonal and organizational operator, able to manage competing priorities and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • You work well across Product, Technology, Marketing, Analytics, Risk, Operations and line of business teams.
  • You lead people well, attracting, developing, coaching and keeping high performers.
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and can create structure, clarity and alignment in fast-changing settings.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) required.
  • Master's degree (MBA/MS) preferred.
