Description

About Thinking Machines

The mission of Thinking Machines is to build AI that extends human will and judgment. We are training frontier models with Inkling, developing Tinker to let people make models their own, and crafting interfaces that broaden human-AI communication. We believe the future worth building is human, and we're hiring people who want to build it.

About the Role

We're hiring a GTM Recruiter to build the sales and go-to-market team behind Tinker and our product offerings. You will own full-cycle recruiting for roles such as account executives, customer success, partnerships, and revenue operations, working directly with GTM leaders to define what great looks like in a fast-moving, early-stage market.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is as comfortable sourcing and closing a senior sales leader as they are building a hiring process from scratch. You will have real autonomy, a direct line to company leadership, and the opportunity to shape how a frontier AI lab hires its first revenue team.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for GTM roles, from intake and sourcing through offer and close
  • Partner with GTM leaders to define role scope, ideal candidate profiles, and quota-carrying and technical sales hiring plans
  • Proactively source and engage senior sales, solutions engineering, and customer-facing candidates, including passive talent at top AI, developer-tools, and enterprise software companies
  • Assess candidates for sales fundamentals, including pipeline generation, deal management, technical credibility with developers and researchers, and consultative selling
  • Design and run structured interview loops and calibration for GTM roles, including role-plays and case exercises
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience and sell the mission, product, and opportunity to highly sought-after candidates
  • Track and report on funnel health, pipeline, and time-to-hire for GTM searches, and use the data to improve our process
  • Work closely with recruiting operations to improve tooling, workflows, and compensation and leveling guidance for sales roles

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a focus on hiring sales and go-to-market roles
  • Track record of closing senior sales hires, such as account executives, sales leaders, or solutions engineers, at high-growth tech companies or startups
  • Strong understanding of how sales roles work, including quotas, OTE and commission structures, sales cycles, and what distinguishes top performers
  • Experience sourcing passive candidates and building talent pipelines from scratch
  • Excellent judgment, communication, and stakeholder management with senior leaders
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience recruiting for GTM teams at AI labs, developer platforms, API or infrastructure companies, or enterprise software companies
  • Experience building a GTM team from zero to one at an early-stage company
  • Comfort discussing technical products with candidates, including AI and machine learning concepts and developer-facing use cases
  • Experience structuring sales interview processes, scorecards, and calibration to reduce bias and improve signal
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems such as Ashby and with using data to manage a pipeline
  • Experience supporting hiring across multiple geographies and building a presence in new markets
  • Logistics
  • Location: This role is based in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY
  • Compensation: Depending on background, skills and experience, the expected annual salary range for this position is $220,000 - $275,000 USD.
  • Visa sponsorship: We sponsor visas. While we can't guarantee success for every candidate or role, if you're the right fit, we're committed to working through the visa process together.
  • Benefits: Thinking Machines offers generous health, dental, and vision benefits, unlimited PTO, paid parental leave, and relocation support as needed.
  • As set forth in Thinking Machines' Equal Employment Opportunity policy, we do not discriminate on the basis of any protected group status under any applicable law.
  • Thinking Machines Lab will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the California Fair Chance Act, the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, and any other applicable state or local fair chance ordinance or law.
