Generative AI & Software Engineering Intern

Description

The company is Nissan Technical Centre Europe's embedded software development group, and it is looking for an AI intern to explore and apply Generative AI within that area.

The work centres on emerging AI tools, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and AI agents, aimed at supporting software development and making engineering knowledge and technical information easier to reach.

The goal is an AI-guided solution for embedded software development built on the team's current engineering processes.

Location: Barcelona, Spain.

Responsibilities

• Research and apply Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to make technical information and engineering documentation easier to find.
• Explore how AI agents could help software developers during design and development.
• Help define AI-based workflows for Model-Based Development (MBD) software components.
• Work with engineering sources such as development methodologies, design rules, templates, examples and software documentation.
• Work with the engineering team to find where Generative AI fits within existing development processes.
• Write up your findings and recommendations for future AI deployment.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related field.
• Interest in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG architectures, AI agents and software development.
• Programming skills in Python or a similar language.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English.

Conditions

You must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree and able to set up a university internship agreement with your academic institution.
