Description

The company is a technology firm dedicated to serving the US federal government, with more than 13,000 people serving defense, national security, public safety, civilian, and military health clients.

The company is part of a global firm. The team builds secure software for modern backend and browser-facing systems, and the role is a full stack engineer position on that team.

You will ship code that is sound, easy to maintain, and secure on both the server and browser sides.

Responsibilities

  • Write, debug, and assess production code in Go and TypeScript/JavaScript or equivalent languages, working on your own.
  • Use AI coding assistants to move faster while owning all the code they produce. Break work into tasks, guide the tools, and check and revise their output. Accepting generated code without review is not acceptable.
  • Review code line by line, both your own and generated, and catch defects, design problems, and needless complexity.
  • Apply common design patterns and architecture principles such as interfaces, dependency injection, factories, adapters and gateways, and layered design, following DRY, SOLID, and reuse-first thinking.
  • Build backend services, data models, APIs, and web front ends, keeping contracts between client and server clear and stable.
  • Design cloud-native pieces (identity and access, storage, databases, messaging, search, and containers) behind abstractions so they run across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Model data for relational databases, including schema creation and migrations.
  • Build multi-tenant security in from the start, covering authentication versus authorization, isolation boundaries, least privilege, and data protection.
  • Keep quality high through unit, integration, and automated tests, linters, static analysis, CI quality gates, and checks in a running environment.
  • Follow project standards for structure, naming, logging, error handling, and API design. Introduce new patterns only when they are justified and reviewed.
  • Split large requests into steps you can verify, pick the right system layer for each change, and explain your decisions clearly to peers and reviewers.
  • Work in disconnected or constrained settings with no public internet, private registries, pre-approved dependencies, and isolated networks. Solutions cannot rely on outbound SaaS, public container pulls, or live commercial AI services at runtime.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in Java.
  • Hands-on experience with Go.
  • Experience designing cloud infrastructure architecture.
  • Experience with full stack development.
  • Experience integrating AI into workflows or developing with AI assistance.
  • Experience setting and following security standards.
  • Strong data modeling skills, including relational databases, schema creation, and migrations.
  • Strong proficiency in modern programming languages, with the ability to read, write, debug, and evaluate production-grade code on your own.

Conditions

Active TS/SCI security clearance is required.

The base pay range for roles in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia is $106,300 - $206,200 USD.

Pay varies by office location, role, skill set, and experience level.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis with no fixed deadline.

The company is committed to equal opportunity and an inclusive culture where everyone is respected.

Benefits

  • The company offers a wide variety of benefits, and more details are available from the company.
  • Bonus points for Security+ certification.
  • Bonus points for TypeScript experience.
  • Bonus points for work on multi-service or platform engineering teams.
  • Bonus points for familiarity with defense, government, or other high-assurance environments.
  • Bonus points for multi-cloud or air-gapped deployment experience.
  • Bonus points for disconnected development using private artifact registries and cross-domain or multi-enclave release processes.
