Description

We help financial institutions understand whether the businesses they serve are legitimate.

We're at a rare stage. We already work with some of the largest companies in payments and financial services, but we're still a small team where exceptional people have an enormous impact on what gets built and how the company develops.

We've intentionally stayed lean, moved quickly, and given people far more ownership than they'd typically get at a company with our level of enterprise traction. There are very few layers between spotting an important problem and solving it.

The mission matters too. Our technology helps keep fraudulent and abusive businesses out of the financial system, while helping legitimate businesses get approved faster and with less friction.

Responsibilities

  • We're hiring our first Solutions Engineer to own the technical side of every customer relationship, before and after the contract is signed.
  • That means three kinds of work: helping prospects evaluate the company with their own data, getting new customers into production, and being the technical expert behind customer success when live customers have questions or issues. Today that work is split between our engineering, product, and customer success. You'll bring it under one owner and make it repeatable.
  • This is a generalist role by design. Some days you'll be deep in a multi-week evaluation for a large bank. Others you'll be answering a customer's question about an unexpected API result, then turning the pattern behind it into clear feedback and suggestions for the product team. You'll work directly with our founder, sales, customer success, product, and engineering.
  • This is a go-to-market role, and it's measured on commercial outcomes: evaluations that convert, faster time to production, and customers who expand.
  • Evaluations and pre-sale
  • Own technical evaluations. Turn a prospect's business problem into a focused evaluation with clear success criteria, the right data, and a defined path to a decision.
  • Prove value with customer data. Run merchant portfolios through the company, compare findings against existing classifications and outcomes, and explain what the results do and don't show.
  • Build the business case. Show where the company uncovers missed risk, reduces manual review, improves business classification, or flags meaningful changes across a portfolio.
  • Lead technical discovery and demos. Understand customers' underwriting and monitoring workflows, show the capabilities that matter to them, and recommend how the company should fit into their systems.
  • Onboarding and live customers
  • Guide customers into production. Help technical teams work with our API, map outputs into decisioning workflows, configure monitoring and webhooks, and troubleshoot integration issues.
  • Be the technical expert for live customers. Customer success owns the relationship and the commercial side; you own technical depth and get pulled in when a question needs it, whether that's API behavior, unexpected results, monitoring, or webhooks. Resolve what you can directly, and escalate real bugs to engineering with clear reproduction steps.
  • Own configuration and tuning. Help customers set up risk profiles, override specific checks, and work through false positives. Many of these changes need engineering today, so you'll make the ones you can, scope the rest clearly, and help build the tooling that takes engineering out of the loop.
  • Across both
  • Build repeatable tools and processes. Create scripts, evaluation templates, sample integrations, help docs, and support playbooks that make each evaluation, launch, and answer faster than the last.
  • Bring evidence into product decisions. Spot recurring questions and gaps, separate product limitations from configuration issues, and give engineering clear requirements and reproducible examples.

Requirements

  • Experience in solutions engineering, sales engineering, technical implementation, technical support, or another customer-facing engineering role.
  • You can independently clean datasets, work with APIs, investigate unexpected results, and produce a clear analysis, using AI tools to move faster.
  • Experience helping enterprise customers evaluate, implement, or troubleshoot an API or data product.
  • You can explain technical findings clearly to both engineers and business stakeholders.
  • Sound analytical judgment. You question labels, investigate false positives, and recognize when the data doesn't support a conclusion.
  • You enjoy variety. Switching between a multi-week evaluation and a quick customer fix in the same day energizes you, and you see support questions as a source of product insight, not a distraction.
  • Strong ownership: you take an ambiguous customer question and drive it to a useful answer.
  • Comfort in a lean team where you'll help design the process while doing the work.
  • Flexibility to occasionally take early-morning or late-evening calls with customers across North America, Europe, and Asia.
  • Experience in payments, merchant underwriting, fraud, KYB, or risk decisioning is a very strong plus.
  • What success looks like
  • Prospects finish evaluations with clear evidence of value and a concrete next step.
  • Customers integrate successfully, resolve technical issues quickly, and expand their use of the company.
  • Recurring questions lead to documentation, tooling, or product improvements that reduce future support needs.
  • Most technical questions and routine configuration changes are resolved without engineering involvement, so product and engineering can focus on building.
  • Sales and customer success rely on reusable technical resources.

Benefits

  • You'll define a foundational role at a profitable, lean team that works with the largest organizations in payments and fintech. You'll see the whole customer lifecycle, from first evaluation to years in production, which few roles offer. And you'll have direct access to decision-makers, real ownership, and a clear line between your work, customer outcomes, and company growth.
