Description

The company makes an AI marketing platform that is growing faster than any other in its category. It is used by 15% of the Fortune 500, including Comcast, Estée Lauder, Walmart, Ramp, MongoDB and Figma. Marketing teams use it to handle research, briefs, content, campaigns and reporting in one place, with agents that take on repetitive work.

The platform is built on over 2B real user prompts, showing what people ask AI tools and how those models respond. The company's AI Marketer combines that data with customer context to surface opportunities worth pursuing, then runs agents for tasks such as reporting, drafting content, auditing pages for readability and competitive research. It tracks results and improves over time.

The Marketing Engineer role was introduced in April 2026 at Zero Click San Francisco for marketers who build, and who see a manual process as something to systematize. Since then, companies including Google and Figma have begun hiring for it, and hundreds of people have earned the company's certification. Resources include a manifesto, a podcast featuring practitioners, and a first-hand account from the founding Marketing Engineer.

The company is now building a team to bring Marketing Engineering to large brands and to its agency and consulting partners. As a Forward Deployed Marketing Engineer, you will work inside customer teams, often on site, to learn their marketing work, find where the platform fits, and build workflows that become part of daily delivery. You will pair marketing judgment with product knowledge to raise the quality of their output and their confidence with the tool.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside customer marketing teams, on site regularly. Sit in planning meetings, review briefs and campaigns, and use the platform with the people doing the work.
  • Learn each team's priorities, workflows and bottlenecks. Propose proven uses that fit their business and point out opportunities they have not considered.
  • Review outputs with customers for accuracy, brand voice, audience fit and usefulness. Adjust inputs and instructions until the work meets their standards.
  • Design, build and troubleshoot agents and workflows that run real marketing tasks, including reporting, competitive research, content drafting and page audits.
  • Help practitioners use the platform on live projects, remove obstacles and build their ability to work on their own. Track usage and roll successful applications out to more teams.
  • Coordinate with the account team: Engagement Managers on priorities, stakeholder access and delivery; Account Managers on expansion; Agent Engineers on complex builds, integrations and reliability.
  • Work directly with agency and consulting partners to find where the platform can support their teams and client work. Help them apply it, train their practitioners and co-run shared customer projects.
  • Turn successful applications into templates, training and playbooks that customers, partners and colleagues can reuse. Pass customer needs and recurring product gaps to the Product team.
  • You are accountable for adoption that comes from use cases customers find valuable.

Requirements

  • The role is for marketers who build, not engineers looking to learn marketing. You will be assessed on six areas: marketing experience, builder aptitude, product depth, initiative and ownership, customer credibility, and familiarity with the modern marketing stack.
  • Five to eight years in marketing, or working closely with marketing teams in-house, at an agency or consultancy, or in a martech role. You understand what marketers prioritize, can judge good work, and have improved how teams work using technology.
  • Curiosity about how technology can improve marketing, and a willingness to experiment. No technical background is required. Plus: automating a process, configuring marketing tools, building with LLMs or connecting systems.
  • Quick to learn new tools, explore their capabilities and put them to work on real tasks. You will be trained to become an expert on the platform. Plus: the company's certification.
  • Able to spot opportunities, make recommendations and follow through. You can juggle several stakeholders and competing priorities and keep work moving without detailed direction.
  • Communicate clearly, lead conversations with confidence and earn the trust of practitioners and senior marketing leaders. Comfortable working on site regularly and collaborating with customers' internal teams, agencies and consultants.
  • Experience with tools such as HubSpot, Marketo, Braze, Segment or Clay. Plus: coding skills, though neither coding nor a computer science degree is required.
  • Plus: experience applying AI or marketing automation, or depth in a discipline or industry such as content, lifecycle, pharma, CPG or banking.

Conditions

On-site role based in the New York City, San Francisco or London office, with regular travel to customer sites.

Expected base salary is $149,250 to $155,250 before variable compensation for New York City and San Francisco, and £94,500 to £98,250 before variable compensation for London. The final figure depends on skills, experience, qualifications and location, and is set during interviews. The recruiting team will provide full compensation and benefits details during the process.

Equal opportunity: candidates are considered without regard to protected characteristics.

Benefits

  • Total package includes base salary, variable compensation, equity, and a full range of benefits and perks.
