Forward Deployed Engineer (Secret cleared)

This is a senior data engineering role building scalable data solutions that produce useful business results. You will work with engineers, program managers, and client stakeholders to turn complex data into insights, production applications, and workflows that support critical missions.

The role calls for deep Palantir Foundry skills, current data engineering methods, and software development experience, and you will work in a client-facing setting with changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Build component-based applications in Foundry using React and TypeScript, with the OSDK, custom widgets, and Workshop
• Write data transformations in PySpark, Polars, or a similar distributed or columnar framework
• Build and maintain server-side interfaces and APIs with Node.js, Flask, or comparable tools
• Apply Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and development tooling
• Design maintainable, scalable applications using object models and TypeScript abstractions such as interfaces, type hierarchies, and reusable schemas
• Work with analytics and application teams to connect pipelines, ontologies, and backend logic into unified enterprise workflows
• Help design software, build prototypes, and iterate quickly on features and improvements
• Explain technical work clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences so everyone stays aligned

Requirements

• US citizenship is required
• You must hold an active DoD Secret clearance
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• Hands-on Palantir Foundry experience covering pipeline development and maintenance, data integration and ingestion, dataset management, ontology design and implementation, and application deployment
• Strong React and TypeScript skills in Foundry, including the OSDK, custom widgets, and Workshop
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C++, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar languages
• Experience building and supporting production-grade software and data systems
• Experience handling structured and unstructured data at scale
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Foundational knowledge of machine learning concepts and tools
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and own your deliverables
• Preferred: experience building solutions with Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Preferred: experience delivering software or analytical products that produce measurable business results
• Preferred: experience working directly with clients in embedded or consulting-style settings
• Preferred: a demonstrated commitment to customer success and solving complex business problems

Conditions

The base pay range for this role in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia is $120,400 - $234,700 USD

Pay is set by location, role, skill set, and experience level, and local law requires the company to share these ranges for those locations
