Description

The company makes healthcare data from health plans usable, so teams that decide on care and costs can act sooner and with more confidence.

It is a data and AI platform for health plans that merges siloed data into one trusted base, supporting better outcomes, less waste and better experiences for members and providers. Its platform delivers clean, connected, reliable data for GenAI uses such as automation, prioritization and decision workflows. The company has $100M in backing from leading investors.

The company is expanding its services by placing mixed teams on site with clients: healthcare subject matter experts, AI and product engineers, and forward-deployed data engineers. The goal is to solve difficult data problems and deliver results quickly. This role joins that effort from the start.

The company uses AI and automation thoughtfully, values curiosity and adaptability, and keeps human insight and clients at the center of its decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Do hands-on data engineering on client work by going on site, examining their environments and source systems.
  • Design and build data models, pipelines and integrations that turn fragmented payer data into a governed, analytics-ready foundation, often on Snowflake.
  • Bring structure and technical judgment to unclear situations involving unfamiliar systems, partial documentation and competing priorities.
  • Turn business needs into scalable designs that cover ingestion, standardization and analytics-ready data products.
  • Advise client data, IT and business leaders, including senior executives, as a trusted technical advisor, on site when engagements call for it.
  • Lead discovery sessions and workshops, gather requirements and structure open-ended problems.
  • Explain tradeoffs, risks and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Work with claims, eligibility, member, provider, encounter and care management data, and advise on quality, mapping and integration across commercial, government and other lines of business.
  • Apply FHIR, HL7, EDI and API exchange patterns in client work.
  • Work closely with the healthcare SME, the AI or product engineer and core delivery teams on every engagement.
  • Apply the company's data-modeling standards and best practices to client work.
  • Document reusable patterns, accelerators and lessons learned, and help build playbooks for new and expanding service offerings.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, solution engineering or a related technical role.
  • Strong skills in data modeling, ETL/ELT, integration, databases, data pipelines and analytics solution design.
  • Hands-on Snowflake experience is required, since the data foundations are built on Snowflake.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Databricks, Spark, cloud data services, APIs and integration frameworks.
  • Experience with payer, government, claims, eligibility, member, provider, encounter and care management data.
  • Working knowledge of FHIR, HL7, EDI and APIs.
  • A proven record of working directly with external clients, senior stakeholders and ambiguous requirements.
  • Strong facilitation, requirements gathering, communication and structured problem-solving skills.
  • T-shaped: deep technical expertise, broad understanding of systems and sound business judgment.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical instincts and pragmatic problem solving, able to work on site with clients as needed.
  • What we'd like to see, but not required: experience in consulting, professional services or another client-facing delivery environment.
  • What we'd like to see, but not required: Snowflake or Databricks certifications.
  • What we'd like to see, but not required: experience with data governance, master data management or data quality frameworks.
  • What we'd like to see, but not required: familiarity with CMS, Medicaid or Medicare data requirements.

Conditions

Pay is based on experience, skills and location, and includes base salary plus eligibility for performance bonuses and equity grants.

The role requires travel to and from client sites, estimated at around 25%.

AI tools support sourcing, interview preparation and other recruiting tasks, including a matching tool that helps prioritize applications by job-related criteria; recruiters and hiring teams review every application and make all hiring decisions.

Interviews are held by live video with your camera on. Virtual or blurred backgrounds and headsets are not allowed unless an approved accommodation applies, so sit in a well-lit, private space where your face and surroundings are clearly visible.

Candidates who advance may be asked to verify their identity, work history and location, and to confirm that they are where their application states. Knowingly false or materially misrepresented information, including identity, location or credentials, may lead to disqualification, and an offer may be rescinded if such a misrepresentation is found at any point.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and will support you with any interview accommodation you need.

Benefits

  • Unlimited paid time off.
  • Work from anywhere.
  • Comprehensive health coverage with several plan options.
  • Equity for every employee.
  • A growth-focused environment that supports your development.
  • A one-time home office setup allowance.
  • A monthly cell phone allowance.
