Field Engineering Co-op

Description

You will join a technical service team in industrial water treatment as a co-op, working alongside experienced professionals. You will support water treatment systems and help the group reach its yearly goals as an active member of the team.

This is a full-time co-op lasting 12 to 16 months, with an expected start in May 2027.

Responsibilities

• The duties below are not exhaustive.
• Prepare system drawings and process flow diagrams for on-site manuals and proposals.
• Run wet tests on water samples in the laboratory.
• Watch process equipment performance through online monitoring tools.
• Help complete monthly reports.
• Manage the bulk chemical inventory and order chemical products when needed.
• Carry out field checks on process equipment, including flow, pH, conductivity and chemical residuals.
• Work with supervisors to find ways to optimize plant equipment.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with basic chemistry work such as titrations, pH and conductivity measurements, and simple lab instruments.
• Basic mechanical skills to help troubleshoot chemical feed equipment.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office, Visio and online data management.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to set priorities and keep deliverables on track in a busy setting.
• Available full-time for 12 to 16 months, starting in May or June 2027.
• Rising junior or senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, industrial engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering or chemistry.

Conditions

The pay range is $24.72 to $27.30 CAD. It is a guide tied to market rates for similar roles, and the final offer may be above or below it based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and internal peer equity.
