Description

The company supports federal facility assessments, construction oversight, quality control, and hurricane recovery in Kauai, Hawaii. Teams move from emergency protection and water damage mitigation to permanent repairs on damaged buildings, roofs, building envelopes, utilities, and related infrastructure.

The role links engineering recommendations to what happens in the field. Scopes may include weatherproofing, interior water damage repair, debris clearance, utility restoration, and infrastructure recovery. You will work alongside engineers, construction managers, and subcontractors to make sure repairs follow approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards, and the work helps restore essential federal facilities.

The company designs and delivers projects in water, environment, energy, transportation, and buildings, from advisory and design through construction management. It reported $16.1 billion in revenue for fiscal year 2025 and has more than 50,000 staff worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Record damage assessments with field observations, measurements, photos, and sketches that inform repair scopes and engineering recommendations.
  • Check materials, workmanship, and finished repairs against approved drawings, specifications, engineering recommendations, and quality requirements.
  • Watch subcontractor work and progress, flag deficiencies or deviations, and work with engineering and construction leads to resolve them.
  • Go through drawings, specifications, and engineering recommendations with field crews to clear up technical requirements and construction questions.
  • Coordinate RFIs, submittals, field questions, inspections, and testing with engineers, construction managers, subcontractors, and qualified testing staff.
  • Watch repair work for unexpected site conditions or technical issues that need further engineering review.
  • Keep accurate field and quality records, including inspection reports, photos, checklists, field notes, deficiency logs, and corrective action records.
  • Log nonconforming work, report what you find, coordinate fixes, and confirm corrections with follow-up inspections.
  • Help verify quantities, track materials, report progress, and coordinate construction and restoration activities.
  • Support emergency weatherproofing, water damage mitigation, envelope and roof restoration, interior repairs, debris clearance, utility restoration, and related infrastructure work as assigned.
  • Help with punch lists, final inspections, as-built records, turnover documents, and closeout.
  • Follow site safety rules, quality procedures, and facility access protocols.

Requirements

  • Minimum: a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, plus 4+ years of field or construction engineering experience on facility or infrastructure projects. Equivalent experience or education may be considered.
  • Minimum: a valid driver's license and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check under company policy.
  • Minimum: US citizenship, because of the nature of the work.
  • Preferred: 8+ years of field or construction engineering experience on facility repairs, utility work, or infrastructure construction.
  • Preferred: experience with federal facility projects, damage assessments, emergency repairs, and coordinating multiple technical disciplines.
  • Preferred: Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
