This is a hands-on Forward Deployed Engineer role on the SWAT team, fixing complex problems in live customer deployments.
Specialists are brought in by FDE Pods or directly by customers when critical problems arise.
The company's agentic AI platform runs in production at very large enterprises, and those customers depend on it.
The role sits within the EMEA South FDE team. Production experience is required, and a builder mindset is essential.
Responsibilities
Own each issue from triage and investigation through fix, validation and handover.
Find root causes and put fixes in place to restore stable performance across the agentic AI platform and the wider platform.
Keep stakeholders clearly informed, especially during high-pressure, time-sensitive incidents.
Serve as the direct escalation path to Product and Engineering: reproduce and document defects, supply detailed technical evidence, help build fixes and workarounds, and track them to release.
Spot recurring issue patterns, share lessons with the Pods, and build reusable diagnostics, runbooks and preventive practices for future deployments across the EMEA South FDE team.
Design agent intelligence covering prompts, reasoning, tool calls and integration with customer systems, using the company's agentic AI platform and current LLM techniques.
Take technical components from architecture choice through to deployment, validation and production observability.
Build and integrate data pipelines on the company's data platform, Snowflake, Databricks and customer data platforms. Model the data, ship the pipeline and validate its output.
Build and maintain agent performance dashboards and customer KPI reports that track deployment health and business outcomes.
Contribute to proofs of concept and MVPs that go from sketch to deployable in days, not months.
Co-build with customers and partners, sharing best practice and enablement as you go.
Feed platform gaps, edge cases and field insights back to senior engineers and the product team.
Work with the Deployment Strategist in your pod to turn customer business challenges into agentic solutions that reach production.
Requirements
3+ years of software engineering or technical delivery experience, including at least one production system you can walk through in depth, ideally in an AI stack, full-stack development or with frontier models.
A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Prior customer-facing technical delivery experience in consulting, professional services or forward deployed engineering. This is required.
Fluency in at least one of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java or Apex, and willingness to add more languages as the work demands.
Hands-on experience with LLMs and prompt engineering, with the ability to explain why a prompt failed and what you would change.
A deep understanding of data modelling, APIs and integration patterns, enough to design them rather than only consume them.
Able to hold your own with sales teams and customer architects.
Ship quality code and evaluate AI outputs with engineering rigour.
Keep up with the evolving AI and data landscape by piloting new tools and experimenting with new models.
Thrive in a team that builds rather than just talks.
Nice to have: the company platform experience or certifications such as Administrator, Platform Developer I, or an agent specialist certification from the company.
Nice to have: familiarity with agent frameworks such as LangChain and LlamaIndex, and orchestration patterns.
Nice to have: hands-on work with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks or BigQuery.
Nice to have: experience in data engineering, platform architecture or headless deployments.
