Expert Machine Learning Engineer

Description

The company is a global technology firm working on safer, greener and more connected mobility. Its engineering center in Krakow, Poland is hiring an Expert Machine Learning Engineer to lead the design and technical direction of machine learning systems for perception, behavior understanding, prediction and planning in automotive products.

The work centers on assisted and automated parking, covering perception, environment understanding, trajectory prediction and automated maneuver planning.

Responsibilities

• Build and refine machine learning models for perception, prediction and planning.
• Design computer vision and multi-modal sensor processing solutions.
• Help develop trajectory forecasting and automated planning methods.
• Create and maintain pipelines for data processing, training and evaluation.
• Examine large datasets and check model performance under real-world conditions.
• Work alongside software, systems and product engineers.
• Help improve algorithms, tooling and development practices over time.

Requirements

• Hold an MSc in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Robotics or a closely related field.
• Have built ML solutions in computer vision, machine learning, robotics or a similar area.
• Have a solid grounding in linear algebra, probability and optimization.
• Have hands-on work in several of the following: computer vision (detection, segmentation, tracking, 3D perception); deep learning architectures (CNNs, Transformers, Vision Transformers); temporal or sequential modeling; representation, self-supervised or multimodal learning.
• Have used PyTorch or another comparable ML framework.
• Write strong Python.
• Have worked with datasets, training pipelines and model evaluation.
• Communicate well in English.
• Optional: experience with trajectory prediction, planning or reinforcement learning.
• Optional: C++ programming.
• Optional: experience with large-scale training infrastructure.
• Optional: knowledge of model deployment and optimization.
• Optional: experience with embedded or edge AI systems.
• Optional: familiarity with ADAS, autonomous driving or automotive datasets.
• Optional: experience with Git, CI/CD and Agile development.
• Optional: a PhD or scientific publications.
