Description

You will work on the risk systems that screen billions in global transfers while keeping real-time money movement fast.

The company is a global technology company that moves and manages money across borders. The Europe Risk & Controls team is extending its work into anti-money laundering (AML) and financial crime prevention across European and UK markets.

You will own the core risk architecture from start to finish, building high-throughput, event-driven engines whose decisions are consistent, explainable and auditable in real time.

Responsibilities

  • Design and scale distributed systems for customer due diligence (CDD/EDD) and financial crime detection.
  • Set the technical direction, make key architecture decisions and mentor senior engineers.
  • Work with Product, Compliance and Data Science to turn regulatory requirements into high-performance code.

Requirements

  • Not every candidate will meet every item. The team supports learning, so apply if you match some of the list and want to grow into the rest.
  • 7+ years of hands-on Java experience, including Spring Boot.
  • Hands-on experience building event-driven architectures with Kafka and SQL.
  • Experience taking systems from initial design through to live production metrics.
  • Ability to explain complex distributed architecture to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience with modern continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
  • Bonus: prior experience in AML, KYC or fraud prevention would be a major advantage.

Conditions

Starting salary is £111,000 to £145,000.

The company welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and is committed to diverse, inclusive teams.

Benefits

  • Restricted stock units (RSUs) are included in the offer.
  • The company's standard benefits package applies.
