Engineering Manager (Web & Mobile)

Description

The team is a cross-functional group of up to 10 engineers working on backend, frontend and mobile, and you would manage it.

You would work closely with Product, Trading and senior engineering leaders to turn business needs into technical work.

The systems run on a mix of hybrid infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Manage a cross-functional engineering team of up to 10 engineers across backend, frontend and mobile.
• Take ownership of delivery, quality and the technical results of your teams.
• Translate business requirements from Product, Trading and senior engineering leaders into technical plans and execution.
• Improve engineering practices such as planning, estimation, CI/CD, code review, testing and release management.
• Shape architectural decisions for systems on hybrid infrastructure.
• Keep production systems highly available, fast and observable.
• Find and pay down technical debt without slowing the team's delivery.
• Hire, onboard and mentor engineers, run 1:1s and performance reviews, and support their growth.
• Build a team culture around ownership, a customer focus and results.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years as an Engineering Manager, including leading several squads.
• Strong technical background in mobile and web engineering.
• Background in financial systems, trading platforms or other high-reliability domains.
• Experience running systems on AWS, including EC2, networking, security and monitoring.
• Experience with on-premise infrastructure and hybrid environments.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation and deployment strategies.
• Familiarity with observability tools for metrics, logging and alerting, and with performance monitoring.
• Advanced Ukrainian and Upper-Intermediate English.
• Plus: experience with low-latency or high-throughput systems.
• Plus: exposure to trading, fintech or market-data platforms.
• Plus: experience scaling teams and systems.
• Plus: hands-on work with infrastructure-as-code tools.
