Description

The company Link is the entry point for connecting people's financial accounts to the apps and services they use. Product teams across the company build onboarding, payments, identity, and lending on top of it. Link covers more than 12,000 financial institutions and over 9,000 apps and services, is used by roughly half of adults with a bank account, and starts about 750,000 connections each day.

The Unified Link team is building one onboarding platform for the company's products. Customers will integrate once through a single API and switch on additional products from a dashboard toggle, which makes adopting new capabilities and expanding use simpler.

You will lead about ten engineers through a large migration. The work brings the existing onboarding products together and moves Link's highest-traffic experiences onto the new foundation without disrupting daily traffic, while Link keeps improving. You will work closely with a Principal Engineer and the team's Tech Lead on technical direction and migration order, and with Product, Design, and other the company teams to make the platform easy to adopt and extend. You will keep a high bar for quality and reliability and develop your engineers through clear priorities, coaching, and feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Set the team's strategy and technical roadmap with the Tech Lead, balancing the platform migration against ongoing Link work.
  • Run team delivery, including planning, sprints, and shipping, and keep the technical bar high by staying involved in design and code review.
  • Recruit, manage, and grow engineers, covering goal setting, coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Work with Product, Design, and engineering teams across the company to define clear interfaces and make the unified platform simple to adopt and extend.
  • Keep Link reliable and healthy during the transition, weighing new work against long-term system health.

Requirements

  • 8+ years as a backend or full-stack engineer, including a record of designing and shipping complex, scalable systems.
  • 2+ years managing engineers, including coaching, performance management, and team building.
  • Deep technical skill: you can work through architecture and design details and hold the team to a high standard.
  • Strong sense of user needs and the judgment to weigh technical tradeoffs against product results.
  • Nice to have: experience building consumer-facing products and/or product-led growth (PLG) developer tools.

Conditions

The company is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected characteristic. Candidates with criminal histories are considered in line with applicable law, and reasonable accommodations are available during recruiting on request.

Equity and/or commission depend on the position offered.

Pay depends on factors including the scope and responsibilities of the role, your experience and skills, and location. Pay and benefits may change at any time, in line with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefit plans.
