Engineering Manager, Agents

Description

The team builds and ships AI agents that handle customer support at an AI-powered customer experience company.

You will work closely with customers and with the product, design, and research teams to deliver dependable solutions and shape the agent platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers who build AI agents for complicated customer interactions.
• Work with enterprise customers to pin down operational problems and design solutions that scale.
• Oversee agent rollouts, from first implementation through continuous iteration and tuning.
• Collaborate with product, design, and research to spot shared customer needs and feed them into platform development.
• Help define technical strategy and keep a strong standard for engineering quality, ownership, and delivery.
• Coach engineers through technical guidance, feedback, and support for their career growth.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience, with at least 1 year spent managing or leading engineers.
• Background as a backend or product engineer on customer-facing products or complex distributed systems.
• Strong Python skills, plus production experience with TypeScript and asynchronous programming.
• Ability to track down failures across complicated technology stacks.
• Strong communication skills and hands-on experience working directly with enterprise customers.
• Optional: experience with LLM applications, agentic workflows, or multimodal models would be a plus.

Conditions

Base salary ranges from $300,000 to $360,000 per year.
