Engineer, Remote Support (with Dutch)

Description

This role supports field engineers, technicians and product support staff who diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and debug systems. You step in when first-line product support has not isolated or fixed a fault in faulty equipment or software.

The role is based in either the Netherlands or Germany and reports to a Team Leader. You will support the company's Dutch-speaking customers on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities

• Give technical support to internal and external customers, including operators, OEMs, developers, system administrators, field consultants and engineers.
• Work as part of the Controller hardware team on Logix controller systems and related products.
• Write and publish knowledgebase articles.
• Take each issue from first contact through to resolution with a high standard of customer service.
• Most support is delivered by phone and email.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering, computer science or information systems. Other degrees are considered if relevant to the role, or you have experience with the company or similar hardware products.
• Fluent English and Dutch at C1 or C2 level. This is mandatory.
• Knowledge of industrial automation product ranges and applications, and how they connect with software and IT systems.
• Preferred, not required: knowledge of VFDs and motion drives.
• Preferred, not required: knowledge of PLCs.
• Preferred, not required: knowledge of Windows and Office 365.
• Preferred, not required: knowledge of VMware, Windows Servers, Ethernet networking and HMI systems.

Conditions

Shift work runs Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00.

The role is hybrid. Employees in the Netherlands are expected to be at a company location on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, unless a business commitment takes them elsewhere.
