Description

The role sits in the Business Cards & Payments team, which builds a software ecosystem for small business owners to cut friction and save time across their operations.

You will work on large technical initiatives and help scale platform capabilities across the company, in an iterative, collaborative and inclusive delivery setting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead programs tied to critical business goals and help build scalable products that give Small Business Card customers a strong experience.
  • Help grow the TPM function within the team by sharing industry knowledge and showing the organization what strong technical program management delivers.
  • Shape the TPM and delivery strategy by setting up operating mechanisms, maturity models and tooling that work across portfolios.
  • Build and align the program roadmap around business objectives, definition of done, technical solutions and dependency sequencing.
  • Plan cross-platform technical investment and keep architecture aligned toward long-term platform convergence and reuse.
  • Act as the executive escalation point for program risks, guiding technology leaders to make data-driven trade-offs between speed, cost and resiliency.
  • Define measurable platform outcomes for availability, scalability, cost efficiency and developer velocity, and hold multiple engineering teams accountable for delivery.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a technical field.
  • At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs.
  • Preferred: 7+ years designing and building solutions with distributed computing or service-oriented architecture (SOA).
  • Preferred: 3+ years building distributed, highly available services on cloud computing, preferably AWS.
  • Preferred: 3+ years building highly scalable products and platforms.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of Agile delivery experience.
  • Preferred: 3+ years delivering large, complex programs where you shaped business or technical vision, worked with large cross-functional teams, secured delivery commitments and removed blockers to produce business impact.
  • Preferred: experience building systems in a highly regulated environment.
  • Preferred: an MBA or master's degree in a related technical field such as computer science or software engineering.
  • Preferred: PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of people management, or of influencing an organization as an individual contributor.
  • Preferred: experience standardizing platforms across multiple product portfolios or lines of business.
  • Preferred: a track record of building TPM maturity, including operating models, career frameworks and metrics, at scale within engineering organizations.
  • Preferred: strong communication and influence skills, able to work deeply with technical teams and turn technical implications into business narratives that persuade senior leaders.
  • Preferred qualifications are marked with the word preferred in the list above; the posting itself separates them as preferred.
