Description

The company helps businesses connect, protect, analyze and act on their data and applications across edge and cloud environments.

This role leads cloud security for large-scale AWS and GCP environments in the networking business, which runs AI-powered, cloud-native SaaS platforms.

You will oversee security operations for these platforms and keep production stable, reliable and operationally sound at scale.

You report to the Senior Director of CloudOps and Security, set the security operations strategy and build high-performing teams.

As a senior member of the security leadership team, you will also take on wider organisation responsibilities.

This is a technical leadership role. You will not write production code every day, but you should review code, write scripts and solve technical problems when needed.

You will work with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

  • Set and run one security operations strategy for cloud security across the SaaS products.
  • Grow and mature the cloud security posture management program.
  • Keep the organisation compliant with PCI-DSS, ISO 27001/2 and SOC 2.
  • Work with corporate security, engineering, product management, IT, legal and executive leadership to align security priorities with company goals.
  • Set measurable outcomes and hold owners accountable for cloud security across the SaaS products.
  • Stay technically deep enough to evaluate designs, challenge assumptions and guide engineering decisions.
  • Get hands-on when needed: review security architecture and protections, investigate incidents, audit IAM configurations and prototype solutions.
  • Drive automation, scalability and reliability across security operations.
  • Brief leadership on security risks, the threat landscape and operational health.
  • Give executives visibility into security posture, investments and key risks.
  • Turn threat intelligence into insights the business can act on.
  • Lead response and communications during major security incidents.
  • Represent the company's cloud security operations externally when appropriate.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in cybersecurity, including 3+ years leading multiple teams or managers.
  • You must have experience with encryption standards, IAM, RBAC, security protocols, WAF and CIS benchmarking.
  • Deep expertise in securing AWS, GCP or both.
  • You must have experience securing Kubernetes infrastructure and virtual machines using infrastructure as code.
  • A strong technical background, with the ability to read and write code. Python is preferred.
  • Experience building or maturing security programs and operational capabilities.
  • A proven decision-maker who can act decisively during critical incidents.
  • An excellent communicator who can engage engineers, executives and cross-functional teams.
  • The ability to work with high autonomy and minimal supervision.
  • Experience leading teams through major security incidents.
