Description

You will help set the direction for how trusted clinical content changes as AI-enabled clinical decision support grows.

The UpToDate suite is built on rigorous, evidence-based clinical knowledge. As clinicians increasingly use AI to search, interpret and apply that knowledge, the content strategy needs to keep content authoritative, traceable, structured and ready for responsible AI-powered experiences.

This is a senior individual contributor product role focused on content standards, structure, metadata, feedback loops and AI readiness. You will work with Product, Editorial, Clinical, Editorial Operations, Engineering, AI and Analytics to turn content needs into clear priorities, platform requirements and measurable results. The aim is to give clinician editors and contributors workflows and tools that free their time for clinical insight, evidence synthesis, content creation and expert curation.

Responsibilities

  • Set the content product strategy behind responsible AI-enabled clinical decision support.
  • Set roadmap priorities that make content ready for search, retrieval, answer generation, source grounding and user workflows.
  • Turn content standards, quality expectations, editorial needs and AI-readiness requirements into scalable product priorities and platform requirements.
  • Lead updates to content rubrics and standards with clinical, editorial, product and AI teams.
  • Build feedback loops that surface content gaps, quality problems, user pain points and chances to make content more useful.
  • Define requirements for content structure, tagging, taxonomy, metadata, source traceability and authoring workflows.
  • Work with Editorial Operations, the editorial platform and engineering teams to find workflow and tooling gaps that make structured content creation, curation, review and upkeep simpler and easier to scale.
  • Align product, editorial, clinical, engineering, AI, commercial and leadership stakeholders.
  • Explain strategy, priorities, tradeoffs and impact clearly to senior and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

  • You have 10+ years in product management, content product, platform product, editorial strategy, knowledge management, taxonomy, healthcare content or a related area.
  • You have set product strategy, influenced executives and led complex cross-functional work as an individual contributor.
  • You understand content quality, editorial workflows, structured content, metadata, taxonomy or knowledge systems.
  • You turn complex content and platform needs into product requirements, prioritization frameworks and measurable outcomes.
  • You analyze data well and can define metrics, feedback loops and decision frameworks.
  • You communicate well, including storytelling, with product, editorial, clinical, technical, commercial and executive audiences.
  • Preferred: experience with healthcare, clinical, regulatory or professional-information content.
  • Preferred: experience with AI-enabled search, question answering, retrieval, content platforms, editorial tooling or knowledge graphs.
  • Preferred: familiarity with responsible AI, source grounding, content evaluation or human-in-the-loop review.
  • Success looks like content strategy tied to product quality, clinician trust, customer value and responsible AI, with teams aligned on the capabilities and workflow changes needed for AI-ready clinical knowledge.
  • Success also looks like clearer, more measurable standards and rubrics that are easier to put into practice, and content that is structured and maintained in ways that improve AI-enabled product experiences.
