Director of Product Management

Description

Streams is the telemetry pipeline and shared ingest layer for Observability, Security, and Search. It gathers data from any source, processes and routes it, and stores it in Elasticsearch or in the customer's own object storage. It is built on open standards including OpenTelemetry and Prometheus.

This role leads the product work for Streams from end to end and manages the product managers who work on it. The goal is to make the platform the easiest place for every solution and every customer to send data.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategy and roadmap for data collection, ingestion, processing, and routing, along with the integrations framework.
• Define and monitor KPIs that measure product and feature adoption.
• Work with the Observability, Security, and Search product leaders to build a shared service that all of them can use.
• Make data ingestion self-service, so that getting first data in takes minutes.
• Lead a distributed team of product managers and help them deliver measurable results.
• Set roadmap priorities using input from customers, internal teams, and the community.
• Work with engineers and designers to scope and shape strong features.
• Give sales, marketing, and partners clear messaging and positioning.

Requirements

• At least 10 years in product management, including at least 4 years leading PM teams in data infrastructure, observability, or data pipelines.
• Strong technical knowledge of telemetry ingest, including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, log processing, routing, and agent management.
• Experience shipping SaaS products with usage-based pricing and building platform capabilities that several product lines share.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with the company Stack is a plus.

Conditions

Pay is base salary only. The role has no variable compensation.

The typical starting salary range for this role is $192,500 - $304,500 CAD. These figures are the lowest to highest amounts the company reasonably expects to pay for this role when posted, and it may pay more or less or change the range later.

Where someone lands in the range depends on factors such as education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business needs.

The role is eligible for the company's stock program in addition to cash pay.
