Director, Contract Lifecycle Management Product Manager

  • Hybrid
  • 6+ years

Salary

$173,200/ year

Description

The company needs a product line lead to drive the strategy and ongoing development of its enterprise contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform, centred on DocuSign CLM.

You will be the main business-facing product owner in a multi-year, complex global transformation. You will work with internal stakeholders, the chosen systems implementation partner and the software vendor.

You will set the priorities and vision for the product line and turn needs from 10+ functional areas across 40+ markets into actionable requirements. You will drive delivery of CLM capabilities across the organisation.

You will also oversee day-to-day support for the CLM program, help set up enterprise governance, and look for ways to improve contract processes, user experience, reporting and automation.

The role combines product ownership, enterprise systems implementation, executive engagement and operational leadership in a global, highly regulated setting.

Responsibilities

  • Write and share a vision, strategy and multi-year roadmap for the CLM product line that fits business priorities and enterprise technology standards.
  • Lead three or more CLM products across their full lifecycle, from planning and delivery through adoption, optimisation and continuous improvement.
  • Work with GSF and IT delivery teams to support overall company priorities.
  • Define and track product KPIs and success measures for business value, user experience and operational efficiency.
  • Act as the main link between business stakeholders such as Legal, Technology Procurement and Compliance and the IT delivery teams.
  • Manage a team of analysts who turn business goals into clear requirements, user stories and prioritised backlogs.
  • Lead discussions on trade-offs between scope, cost, risk and timing so decisions are well informed.
  • Find ways to standardise, simplify and automate contracting processes across the enterprise.
  • Advise senior business and IT leaders, shaping decisions across complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Hire, coach, mentor and give feedback to a team of Product Managers, and build that team over time.
  • Lead CLM implementations, releases and enhancements using sound PMO, delivery and risk management practices.
  • Make sure delivery follows governance, documentation, enterprise SDLC, security and compliance standards.
  • Plan change management and stakeholder communication to support smooth deployments and adoption.
  • Be the subject-matter expert on contract lifecycle and related processes, understanding stakeholder needs, pain points and value drivers.
  • Lead the CLM product team hands-on and build its capability across configuration, workflows, templates, clauses, metadata and integrations.
  • Work with architecture, integration, security and data teams to deliver scalable, compliant solutions.
  • Make technical choices that keep the platform sustainable, performant and easy to extend.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree is the minimum education requirement.
  • 10+ years in product management, product ownership or solution leadership, ideally on enterprise SaaS platforms.
  • Strong enterprise leadership: business judgement, strategic planning, execution, driving change, emotional intelligence and building networks and partnerships.
  • A record of earning trust with business leaders through data-driven, user-focused results.
  • Strong PMO and delivery leadership, including managing complex initiatives with many stakeholders.
  • Experience owning and delivering enterprise-scale solutions. CLM experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to set product vision, build roadmaps and deliver measurable business value.
  • Experience leading and mentoring technical analysts or delivery teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and executive presence.
  • Experience working with Legal, Procurement, Compliance or similar functions.
  • Experience with organisational change management, transformation and continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes.
  • Skills in asset management, benefits management, contract management, documentation, enterprise system implementations, enterprise systems, management system development, organisational change management, product management, product management leadership, requirements management, risk management, roadmapping, stakeholder communications, stakeholder engagement, stakeholder relationship management, strategic planning, system design and user experience (UX).
  • Preferred: a master's degree in a science or technology discipline.
  • Preferred: 15+ years in product management, product ownership or solution leadership, ideally on enterprise SaaS platforms.
  • Preferred: a proven record of taking solutions beyond first implementation to enterprise-wide adoption.
  • Preferred: product management certifications or Agile/Scrum credentials.
  • Preferred: deep knowledge of CLM platforms, including configuration, workflows, clause libraries, approvals, reporting and integrations.
  • Preferred: one or more DocuSign CLM certifications: Administrator, Workflow Developer, Implementation Consultant or Technical Consultant.
