Description

The company has opened a new Data Engineer role in Getafe on its data integration team, which sits within the data management and AI group.

You will design, build and deploy data pipelines that connect business systems, engineering systems, machines and drones, using the company's shared integration platforms and products.

You will work with a mixed group of specialists who use both classical and agile project management.

Depending on the project, you may own a solution from start to finish and give colleagues the input they need to keep the service strong after deployment.

Data will move inside the company and to and from partners, customers and governments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and deploy integrations inside the data integration products to deliver requests from digital projects.
  • Define the integration tasks for new development driven by new use cases or by requests from the product owner.
  • Run user acceptance testing and deployments for new data integrations, working closely with the operations manager of each integration product.
  • Analyse data integration platform performance to keep existing service level agreements met.
  • Help migrate existing data pipelines to an API-based microservices architecture.
  • Contribute to AI adoption initiatives that use the new interoperability layer supporting agentic AI across the company.
  • Support data modelling that follows the data foundations and semantic layer set by data owners.
  • Keep information flow documents and the platform service level records current as new data flows go live.
  • Maintain configuration management documentation.
  • Prepare user acceptance testing deliverables with the project manager, along with a deployment plan and acceptance criteria for each data flow.
  • Track metrics for data integration technologies.
  • Give technical advice on architecture and integrations within your area of responsibility.
  • Build physical data models in the relevant integration platforms for each data use case.
  • Implement data quality checks on pipelines, with automated alerts.

Requirements

  • A university degree in an IT-related field.
  • Negotiation-level English and Spanish.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • An existing security clearance, or eligibility to obtain one, is mandatory.
  • More than 5 years as a data engineer, focused on data integration, including data quality checks.
  • More than 5 years of hands-on experience building data pipelines on enterprise integration platforms such as middleware, ETL, ELT and API platforms.
  • Experience with large-scale on-premises data pipeline solutions and integrations.
  • Experience handling data from sources such as CSV, JSON, XML and relational databases.
  • Strong programming skills in data integration languages such as Python, Flask, Node, JavaScript and Express.
  • Experience writing technical and support documentation, and turning business needs into reports and models.
  • Skill in querying and managing relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with API-based services is mandatory.
  • An understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture, preferably on-premises, is mandatory.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience with DevOps methods and tools.
  • Knowledge of IT project management.
  • Basic experience with IT service management principles.
  • Basic knowledge of data analytics and AI principles and techniques.
  • Awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to acting with integrity.
