This role focuses on transforming complex internal data models into regulator-ready outputs, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, traceability and performance.

You will support the migration of legacy SQL Server solutions to GCP, while helping to design and deliver new cloud-native reporting systems in BigQuery. The work spans data modelling, pipeline development, validation and automation, with AI-assisted development also playing a part in improving consistency and reducing manual effort.

Requirements

  • Advanced SQL development skills, including complex queries, stored procedures and performance tuning.
  • Working knowledge of GCP services such as Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub or Cloud Composer.
  • Experience of building ETL or ELT data pipelines.
  • Exposure to orchestration tooling for scheduled and dependency-driven workloads.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server in support of legacy systems.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and version control tools such as Git and GitLab.
  • A methodical approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Interest in AI-assisted development tooling, such as Claude Code.
  • Additional Information
  • Developing and maintaining regulatory data submission systems across on-premise SQL Server and GCP BigQuery platforms.
  • Building automated pipelines for ingesting, transforming and loading regulatory data.
  • Supporting the migration of legacy reporting solutions to BigQuery through data modelling and technical delivery.
  • Implementing validation checks, monitoring and alerting to protect submission accuracy and reliability.
  • Working with senior colleagues and technical leads to shape efficient cloud-native reporting solutions.
  • Applying AI tooling and automation ideas to reduce manual effort and improve delivery quality.
  • Conducting QA to confirm solutions are accurate, performant and aligned to regulatory requirements.
  • Producing and maintaining clear documentation for technical processes and solution designs.
  • Participating in code reviews and following departmental development standards.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to deliver high-quality work within required timeframes.
