The NORAD Operations Division is the prime contractor on the NORAD Cheyenne Mountain Complex ITW/AA and Space Support Contract 3 (NISSC 3). The team runs and sustains threat warning and control systems, develops and integrates software, and supports classified communications and processing for command and control and legacy space systems.

Sites include Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station and Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado, Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska, Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, and numerous sensor and forward operator sites worldwide.

Responsibilities

• You will evaluate, design, implement and test cloud deployments.
• You will work with Cloud Service Providers to design and build hybrid cloud solutions.
• You will partner with vendor technical consultants and program engineering teams to set up cloud environments for development, testing and operations.
• You will deliver IaaS, PaaS and SaaS services to hybrid cloud users.
• You will make sure cloud solutions meet the cybersecurity requirements needed to earn and keep an Authority to Operate (ATO).
• You will advise program leadership on solution choices, integration strategy and sustainment.
• You will contribute to project schedules, spot and reduce risk, record lessons learned, and send regular updates to stakeholders.

Requirements

• You hold an active Secret security clearance.
• You hold an IAT Level II certification, such as Security+.
• You have 4-7 years or more of general work experience.
• You have 4-7 years or more of cloud engineering or a similar role.
• You have used Terraform to provision systems and services and to track configuration drift.
• You hold an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Associate certification or an equivalent Azure certification.
• You have created architecture diagrams that show cloud designs and their services.
• Education: a Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 7+ years of experience.
• Desired: a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
• Desired: an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Associate Professional certification or an equivalent Azure certification.
• Desired: a HashiCorp Terraform Associate certification.
• Desired: experience moving services from government on-premises infrastructure to a hybrid cloud.

Conditions

The role requires a Top Secret clearance.

The role requires DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliance.

The work takes place in a secure, classified workspace, and you must follow all security protocols and access control rules, including limits on personal electronic devices and on handling sensitive information.

You will spend long periods seated or stationary, use a computer and office equipment by hand, communicate in person, by phone and electronically, and occasionally walk around the office to reach files, equipment and meeting rooms.

You may need to lift or move up to 15 pounds, and you need close vision with the ability to adjust focus.

Estimated pay is $110,000 to $140,000 USD. Actual pay depends on location, experience, skills, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and ranges in other locations may differ.

Some roles may also qualify for variable incentive pay, such as bonuses or commissions, which is not part of base salary.
