DevOps Lead with Telco experience

Description

Applications management covers the full lifecycle of software: deployment, monitoring, upkeep and tuning, so systems meet business needs and deliver real value.

You will work on one of the company's strategic telecommunications accounts, alongside colleagues in Romania and across the wider company.

This lead role gives technical direction, calls for sound judgement in complex and unclear situations, and makes you accountable for key technical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design and set up network, security and cloud infrastructure.
• Build, provision and maintain test environments and lab IT services.
• Install, configure and fix large-scale RAN platforms and their infrastructure.
• Write and manage automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code, mainly in Terraform.
• Lead and guide the wider team, and mentor its members toward continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Keep operations stable, resolve incidents and keep environments reliable.
• Handle ticket-based support for infrastructure and test tool problems.
• Run test environment pooling and cluster verification on large systems.
• Track system performance and introduce changes that improve efficiency and cut operating costs.
• Oversee security and compliance across infrastructure and cloud environments.
• Plan capacity and manage resources so infrastructure assets are used well.
• Manage stakeholder and vendor relationships, keeping service delivery and escalation paths in order.
• Write up infrastructure configurations, processes and runbooks so knowledge stays in the organisation and is easy to hand over.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in the telecommunications industry.
• At least 3 years of recent, hands-on work provisioning, integrating and troubleshooting large-scale RAN platforms.
• Solid grasp of networking, including IP protocols, routing and firewall architecture.
• Strong Linux administration skills, covering system commands and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Thorough knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Substantial understanding of digital signal processing (DSP) principles and applications.
• Proven experience with radio emulators such as DICE, C1, L1BP, C2RS/MIB and CTX.
• Verified experience in cluster verification and validation on large systems.
• Established experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code, specifically Terraform.
• Advanced Kubernetes skills for container orchestration and management.
• Proven skill in complex problem solving and systematic troubleshooting.
• Proven ability to explain technical concepts clearly and work across multidisciplinary teams.
