Description

The company is one of Europe's largest entertainment and communications businesses, with more than 22 million customers in five countries.

The OTT data science and optimisation team sits within the data division and works with stakeholders in the UK, Italy and Ireland. It uses data, machine learning and AI to improve the customer experience and grow commercial results across the streaming services.

You will focus on acquisition, engagement, retention and personalisation, using large behavioural datasets, experiments, advanced analytics and predictive models to find opportunities, improve customer journeys and inform key decisions.

You will work alongside Product, Marketing, Commercial and Technology to build scalable solutions that shape how millions of customers find and enjoy content. The pace is quick and the environment international, and you will apply current data science and AI methods to real customer and business problems at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Build working relationships with stakeholders across the group's territories, learn their goals, and turn their needs into data science solutions with real impact.
  • Find commercial opportunities through data analysis and predictive modelling, supporting better decisions and outcomes.
  • Design, build and deploy machine learning models and predictive analytics that improve customer journeys and commercial performance.
  • Create and refine data science methods, frameworks and standards that make the team's work more efficient, consistent and effective.
  • Explore and apply AI, generative AI and agentic AI to improve data science workflows, analytics and business processes.

Requirements

  • Essential: proven ability to apply statistics, machine learning and optimisation to complex business problems.
  • Essential: programming in Python and SQL.
  • Essential: hands-on work with large customer, transactional or behavioural datasets on cloud data platforms and distributed processing technologies.
  • Essential: a positive, flexible approach as objectives change quickly, and the ability to explain findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Essential: strong logical thinking and problem solving, tackling complex problems with innovative, industry-leading techniques.
  • Desirable: understanding of modern AI, including large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and agentic AI frameworks.

Conditions

Hybrid working, with 2 days a week in the office.

The office base is the Osterley campus at the group headquarters, a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane station, with free shuttle buses from Osterley, Gunnersbury and Ealing Broadway stations.

Free onsite parking is available for cars, motorbikes and bicycles.

The company is a Disability Confident Accredited Employer, welcomes all applicants and will make reasonable adjustments where appropriate, so flag any needs as early as possible.

After a successful application you will be asked for a criminal record check; depending on the role and the nature of any convictions, the offer may be withdrawn.

Benefits

  • A free TV or streaming package, including sports and cinema.
  • Pension with an employer contribution of up to 9%.
  • Private healthcare with mental health support.
  • Digital GP and dental insurance from Aviva.
  • Discounts on the company's mobile, broadband, TV hardware and protection products.
