Data Scientist (Senior)

Description

The company is hiring a senior data scientist to support its government customer in Chantilly, VA. The position depends on the company winning the contract.

The role is a key technical resource for advanced statistical methods, machine learning algorithm selection, and enterprise data strategy.

The company is a private defense and government solutions business founded in 1989 and based in Reston, Virginia. It works on advanced technology systems and mission support, including data science, software development, network engineering, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), and logistics.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key technical resource for advanced statistical methods, machine learning algorithm selection, and enterprise data strategy.

Requirements

• Hold an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Have at least 7 years of relevant experience.
• Be proficient in common data science tools and languages, such as PostgreSQL/SQL, Python, R, NiFi, and Git.
• Have experience cleaning, managing, and processing large volumes of data, including tuning performance.
• Know industry best practices for optimizing software and hardware when working with large data sets.
• Have experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, time-series forecasting, and/or geospatial analytics.
• Have experience with Hadoop, Spark, or other parallel storage and computing systems.
• Have experience providing services that develop AI/ML models and weights for object detection, data triage, search and optimization, inference, and automated discovery and decision making.

Conditions

Work in Chantilly, VA, in a normal office environment.

The position is contingent upon contract award.
