Description

The company builds technology-led, full-stack small business insurance, covering the whole value chain and aiming to improve the customer experience.

Since 2016 it has provided fast, tailored, affordable coverage to hundreds of thousands of small business customers across the US. Backed by leaders in insurance and technology, it is still early in its growth.

As a Growth Data Scientist, you will use data to guide how the company attracts, supports and converts customers through its partnership channel and customer experience funnel. You will work with the Product and Partnerships teams to find growth opportunities, learn how customers behave, and turn findings into product and business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Use AI in your daily data science work and spot chances to build reusable AI-enabled tools, skills or agents for practical analytical and business problems.
  • Shape the strategy and roadmap for the partnership channel and the customer experience funnel using data-driven insights.
  • Own analytics across the full customer experience funnel, from opportunities acquired to purchases made.
  • Design and assess experiments and causal analyses that measure how product, funnel and customer experience changes perform, and use the results to guide strategy.
  • Review affiliate performance across the partnership channel, comparing traffic quality, conversion, product mix and customer behavior to find ways to grow partners and improve customer outcomes.
  • Identify, size and rank growth opportunities, turning vague business questions into rigorous analyses and clear recommendations.
  • Apply statistics, segmentation, modelling and deep-dive analysis to uncover what drives business performance.
  • Define clear metrics, measurement frameworks and visualizations so the business can track performance and decide with data.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in data science or another highly quantitative analytical role.
  • Experience in fintech or in growth and partnerships is a plus.
  • Ability to learn new AI capabilities quickly, find real gaps in current workflows, and build or apply practical AI-based solutions that make data science work better.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience using Python or R for statistical analysis and analytical work.
  • Solid grounding in statistics, experimentation and causal inference.
  • Experience designing, running, analysing and recommending actions from experiments.
  • Skill in defining a metric framework that supports data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, able to explain complex analyses simply and influence stakeholders across functions.
  • Experience analysing customer journeys, conversion funnels or growth, and linking metric changes to underlying business drivers.
  • Experience with partnership or other multi-channel business models, including judging partner performance.
  • A builder mindset, with an interest in using data, automation and AI to turn recurring analytical problems into capabilities the wider organization can use.

Conditions

This is a full-time role based in the US, with a base salary range of $158,000 to $214,000 USD.

Final base pay within the range depends on factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Interviews are usually conducted by Zoom video call unless you ask for another arrangement.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected characteristics under applicable law.

Benefits

  • Eligibility for an annual performance-based incentive program.
  • Medical plan with partial employer subsidy, and vision and dental options with full employer subsidy.
  • Life insurance, disability insurance and a 401(k) plan.
  • Flexible paid time off and parental leave, among other benefits.
