Data Scientist Mid

Description

The Data Scientist-Mid role supports Defense and Intelligence programs at Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) at Ft. Bragg, NC, backing the wider U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Intelligence Data Science Team.

The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of the company (GDIT) that delivers agile IT and intelligence solutions, combining small-team flexibility with global scale to build user-focused tools using emerging technology.

The work involves Department of War mission support for the largest government agency in the nation.

Responsibilities

• Help complete specific programs and projects.
• Build data-driven answers to complex business problems.
• Apply advanced tools and computational methods to interpret, connect, predict, and uncover findings in data.
• Assess how accurate and effective new data sources and collection methods are.
• Build predictive models that improve customer experience, efficiency, processes, and other business results.
• Partner with stakeholders across the organization to find chances to use company data for business solutions.
• You may build processes and machine learning tools to track model performance and data accuracy.
• Take on other duties as assigned.
• You may coach and review the work of less experienced professionals.
• Work independently under general supervision.

Requirements

• Strong Python and Bash skills, including API development and data manipulation.
• Working knowledge of SQL and large-scale systems such as PostgreSQL, Hive, or Trino.
• Basic grasp of machine learning concepts and familiarity with Flask or FastAPI.
• Experience with Data Science, Git, and Python.
• 5+ years of related experience, including academic or internship-based data science work.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Current Department of War TS/SCI clearance.
• Cloud or ML certifications are preferred but not required.
• Only US citizens are eligible, due to US Government contract requirements.

Conditions

Onsite at Fort Bragg, NC, five days a week.

Full-time, 40 scheduled hours per week.

Travel up to less than 10% of the time.

Salary is likely to fall between $109,403 and $148,017, based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements, and may fall outside this range. It is not a guarantee of pay.
